Welcome.
Before we begin,
I'd like to introduce you to a remarkable part of your brain known as the reticular activating system,
Or RAS.
Think of it as your mind's filter.
Every second of every day,
Your senses take in far more information than your conscious mind could ever process.
So your brain must decide what to pay attention to and what to ignore.
Your reticular activating system helps make that decision.
Repeatedly focus on,
Think about and believe is important.
If you focus on problems,
Your brain becomes highly skilled at finding problems.
If you focus on possibilities,
Your brain begins noticing possibilities.
If you focus on opportunities,
Solutions,
Confidence and growth,
Your mind starts bringing those things into your awareness more often.
This meditation is an opportunity to consciously guide that process,
To gently train your attention toward what you wish to create more of in your life.
So please find a comfortable position.
Allow your eyes to close and take a slow,
Deep breath in.
And a long gentle breath out.
Again,
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
With every breath,
Allow your body to soften.
Allow your shoulders to relax.
Your jaw to loosen.
The muscles around your eyes to become smooth and comfortable.
There is nowhere else to be right now.
Nothing else you need to do.
Just this moment.
Just this breath.
Allow your awareness to drift through your body.
Noticing any places where tension may still be held.
Without trying to force anything.
Simply inviting those areas to soften.
And as your body relaxes,
Your mind can begin to settle too.
Imagine now that you are standing in a beautiful,
Peaceful garden.
The air is fresh.
The light is warm.
And all around you are thousands upon thousands of tiny seeds.
You see the seeds all over the ground like little sparkles of gold.
Each seed represents a possibility.
An opportunity.
A connection.
A solution.
A moment of inspiration.
There are so many gold and sparkly seeds in front of you.
Many of these seeds have always been here.
You simply haven't noticed them yet.
And that's perfectly natural.
Because your mind can only focus on so much at once.
As you walk through this garden.
Notice one particular area beginning to glow.
Drawn toward it,
You discover a single seed resting in the palm of your hand.
This seed represents something important to you.
Perhaps it is confidence.
Success.
Abundance.
Health.
Creativity.
Peace.
Love.
Or perhaps it is something entirely personal.
There is no need to force an answer.
Simply allow whatever feels right to emerge.
Hold this seed gently,
Feel its significance.
Know that by choosing to focus on this intention,
You are giving your reticular activating system a new instruction.
A new direction.
A new priority.
Silently repeat,
What I focus on grows.
My mind notices what supports me.
I am open to new possibilities.
I recognize opportunities when they appear.
I trust myself to take the next step.
Let's do that again.
What I focus on grows.
My mind notices what supports me.
I am open to new possibilities.
I recognize opportunities when they appear.
I trust myself to take the next step.
Now imagine planting your chosen seed into the rich earth.
As it settles into the ground.
A warm golden light begins to spread through the soil.
This light represents your attention.
Your awareness.
Your intention.
And wherever this light flows,
Growth becomes possible.
Notice the seed beginning to awaken,
Slowly.
Naturally.
Without force.
Without struggle.
Just as a seed knows how to grow when given the right conditions,
Your mind knows how to recognize what is important when given a clear focus.
There is nothing you need to chase.
Nothing you need to control.
Simply allow your awareness to become aligned with what matters most.
Imagine now that this golden light begins expanding beyond the garden.
Into your daily life.
Into your work.
Your relationships.
Your conversations.
Your decisions.
See yourself surrounded by this golden light as it radiates towards others and towards your environment.
See yourself moving through the coming days with greater awareness.
Noticing helpful ideas.
Recognising unexpected opportunities.
Seeing possibilities where you may once have seen limitations.
Feeling more confident.
More capable.
More open.
Not because the world has suddenly changed.
But because your attention has shifted.
And when your attention changes,
Your experience begins to change too.
Take a few moments now to simply rest in this feeling.
Trusting that your mind is listening.
Trusting that your intention has been received.
Trusting that your reticular activating system will continue working quietly in the background.
Helping you notice what supports your growth.
Your wellbeing and your success.
And remember,
You do not need to have all the answers.
You only need to remain open.
Open to possibilities.
Open to opportunities.
Open to the next step.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in.
And a gentle breath out.
Feeling calm.
Feeling centered.
Feeling receptive.
And whenever you are ready.
Begin bringing your awareness back to the room around you.
Noticing the surface beneath you.
The sounds around you.
The rhythm of your breathing.
Carrying this intention with you into the rest of your day,
Knowing that what you notice shapes your experience,
And what you'll focus on grows.
Thank you for meditating with me today.
