Today's session,
We're going to be kind of breaking through those limiting beliefs and really tap in to the courage and freedom of being fully seen and fully heard.
So we're going to go from wallflower to well factor.
Okay,
So let's begin with a nice deep breath.
So breathing in through the nose,
Just grounding into this space through the breath.
Nice big inhale.
And then exhaling whenever you're ready.
And just let go on the exhale.
And then start tapping on the side of the hand repeating after me either in your mind or out loud.
Even though I feel like I can't take up space.
Like there's no room in the world for people like me to be fully seen?
Or heard.
I'm giving myself space to work through this.
Even though I think like I'm too much or I'm not enough.
Although I'm somehow a burden.
I honour my inner essence and what makes me,
Me.
Even though I sometimes struggle to be seen and heard.
And I feel.
.
.
Kind of invisible sometimes.
Like I have to be small or shrink.
I deeply and completely love,
Honour and accept myself anyway.
Well done.
So up to the eyebrow point,
I feel like I have to shrink myself to fit in.
Side of the eye like I'm too much,
Too big,
Too loud.
Or I'm just completely unimportant.
Under the eye.
I worry that I'll be judged if I take up space.
Like,
If I did take up space,
What might happen?
Under the nose.
I feel invisible or like I don't belong.
And no one really notices me anyway.
And if things are coming up here,
Just stay with it,
Keep tapping,
You're doing really well.
Chin points Think like my needs don't matter.
As long as everyone else is okay,
I'll just stay quiet.
Collarbone point.
Maybe part of me is scared of being rejected or shut down.
Under the arm and I hold back because I don't want to stir anything up.
It's somehow safer.
To just be quiet.
Top of the head.
It's really hard to be seen and heard.
Never thought it would be,
But it is.
So just acknowledging the truth of how we're feeling,
We're going to continue to do that through another round.
Eyebrow points.
I notice how my body wants to shrink down small.
When I'm in these situations.
And I feel kind of nervous about standing tall.
So as we tap here,
Just think about if you were a fly on the wall,
Seeing yourself in a room,
Perhaps with other people,
What might you observe about yourself?
What might you observe about yourself?
Side of the eye.
I feel like a wallflower.
Always the one stood in the corner.
Run the edges.
I'm never the one that's on the dance floor.
That's working the room.
Under the eye.
There's a sense of shame in feeling like I'm too much.
I wonder where that came from.
So maybe there was a time where you were shut down when you had something to say or you wanted someone to look at what you were doing.
Under the nose it feels safer to stay quiet and hidden.
Chin point and part of me feels anxious about taking up space.
Like if I did step away from the edges,
What might happen?
Maybe that feels kind of scary.
Just acknowledge what's coming up.
Not judging it.
Collarbone point,
Maybe my true self won't be accepted?
Under the arm,
But I'm so tired of hiding who I am.
Top of the head,
I want to feel free to be me.
Eyebrow point.
I wonder if everyone is judging me as much as I'm judging myself.
So let's say that one again.
Let these words sink in.
I wonder if everyone is judging me as much as I'm judging myself.
Remember we're not judging ourselves here as we're tapping.
We're just considering how our feelings might be affecting us.
Side of the eye,
What if I deserve to be seen and heard just like everyone else?
What if I deserve it?
Under the eye,
What might it look like to start taking small steps to take up space?
Under the nose.
I give myself permission to at least try.
Maybe I could choose courage over shrinking.
Collarbone.
What if it's okay to take up space?
Maybe instead of my body shrinking,
It can bloom instead.
How might that feel?
So we can actually physically practice that.
Imagine yourself in a room and kind of that shrinking feeling of wanting to stay small,
You know,
The closed body language.
What would it be like to bloom?
So maybe your shoulders would come back,
Your chin would rise,
And you'd have that kind of wow factor,
Big smile.
So next time you feel that urge to shrink,
Could you tentatively move towards the fear rather than away from it?
Remember it's all about small steps.
So remember,
Bloom and open,
Not shrink.
Under the arm.
I wonder if there is immense courage within me.
A limitless stream of bravery just waiting to be tapped into.
And there is,
You know.
Top of the head.
What if I'm safe being exactly who I am?
And taking up space is my birthright.
Eyebrow point.
I release the need to make myself small.
Side of the eye.
I let go of the fear of judgement.
So just let go.
Especially that self-judgement.
Keep tapping and just let go with the breath.
Under the eye I free myself from hiding away.
And it's safe and appropriate now that I'm seen and that I take up space.
It's safe and appropriate.
That I'm seeing are my take-up space.
Under the mose I release the shame that keeps me quiet.
I know I can find my voice.
Ideally repeat out loud if you can from here on in if you haven't been doing that so far.
Really find that voice.
I let go of feeling like a burden.
Say it with conviction.
Collarbone points,
I release the belief that I don't belong.
I belong.
We all belong.
And all our glorious,
Messy,
Magical humanness.
As we're tapping here,
I'd just like to share a quote with you by Brené Brown.
You've probably heard of it before.
It's,
True belonging doesn't require you to change who you are.
It requires you to be who you are.
I'll repeat that again so just listen to the words of that and let them sink into your heart.
True belonging doesn't require you to change who you are.
It requires you to be who you are.
So be who you are because you do belong.
I'm getting a bit emotional.
You belong.
Under the arm.
I'm choosing to expand with courage and confidence.
So sit tall,
Sit strong.
Remember,
Tap into that limitless stream of bravery that lays within you,
That's in your heart.
Top of the head.
I'm open to taking up space fully.
So really take up that space as we tap physically.
I'm expanding my capacity to take up space,
Starting here and now.
Well done.
So let's finish with some nice positive and empowering affirmations now.
Sitting tall and strong.
Tapping on the eyebrow.
I'm courageous and strong.
And every time I do a small brave thing.
.
.
My courage grows.
Side of the eye.
I take up space with grace and ease.
Under the eye I'm worthy of love and respect.
Worthy to be seen and heard.
You know,
Maybe there are people out there just waiting to see and hear people like you.
You're the voice they need.
Under the nose I honour my unique presence in the world.
And I'm allowed to take up space and be me.
Collarbone point,
I stand tall and shine my light.
I stand tall and shine my light.
Under the arm.
I'm enough exactly as I am.
Top of the head and I'm learning to take up space in the world with pride and purpose.
Let's take that one again together.
I'm learning to take up space in the world.
With pride and purpose.
Pride and purpose.
Well done,
So stop tapping there,
Hands on your heart,
Take a nice deep breath in through the nose.
Lovely expansive breath,
Breathing in that energy of courage and presence and then exhaling.
Just letting go of all those old judgements and fear.
So take a moment now to let that energy of spaciousness just settle in your body and your heart.
Notice how it feels to be fully here right now.
To be present.
And remember,
You didn't need to change or earn this tapping session.
You chose it and you pressed play.
And that means that you're already doing the work,
OK?
You're already doing it.
You're already learning to take up space in the world.
