I'm Tanya Murphy and I'm so glad to have you here with me.
We recognize that the days can be long and exhausting,
That our lives can be busy and sometimes overwhelming.
But tonight we will rest in a Christian meditation designed specifically to help us ease our minds,
Soothe our bodies,
And lead us into a place of deeply relaxing rest and overwhelming peace.
We find that deep rest and that beautiful peace in the presence of an all-knowing,
Absolutely understanding God.
And so tonight we will settle down into Jeremiah 31 25 and it says,
For I will satisfy the weary soul and every languishing soul.
I,
So tonight as you prepare for sleep,
I encourage you to get comfortable,
Snuggle up under your covers,
Allow your body allow your body to be in a position that you'll be able to maintain through the duration of this meditation.
And if you find that you're falling asleep,
Beautiful,
Mission accomplished.
This meditation will not have a prompt at the end to let you know that the meditation is over.
We will simply end this meditation in silence,
Allowing you to rest in the beautiful,
Sweet presence of a loving Father who will hold you and care for you throughout the night.
And we trust that His presence is more than enough to give us sweet sleep and we will awaken refreshed,
Restored and renewed.
Let's begin.
For I will satisfy the weary soul and every languishing soul I will replenish.
Settling into that,
Trusting that when the Lord says He will satisfy your weary soul that He really will.
Resting in knowing that He knows you personally and intimately.
He understands you.
He knows your concerns,
Your joys.
He wants to reassure you when you're fearful.
He walks with you side by side.
When you're unsure,
He brings comfort.
When we hurt or grieve,
He's with us every step of the way.
He satisfies our weary soul.
He replenishes us with His peace,
His wisdom,
His guidance,
His love,
His understanding.
The mysteries of who God is surrounds us,
Cares for us,
Supports us in ways that are simply mysteries.
We can rest and get beautiful,
Replenishing sleep,
Knowing that the God of the universe takes care of everything and He doesn't need our help to do it.
So we can rest.
For I will satisfy the weary soul and every languishing soul I will replenish.
Allow your body to sink into the bed.
Release your desire to try to even hold your own body weight.
Surrender to this moment.
Surrender to this moment of beautiful rest,
Yielding to the present,
Deep,
Gentle,
Safe rest.
For I will satisfy the weary soul and every languishing soul I will replenish.
Nowhere to go,
Nothing to do,
No agenda,
No assignment,
Just rest.
For I will satisfy the weary soul and every languishing soul I will replenish.
You don't have to deserve rest.
You don't have to feel like you have to earn rest.
Rest is your birthright.
Rest belonged to you when you drew your first breath.
Rest is freely given to you.
It's yours,
Not to earn,
Not to feel like you have to deserve it or not.
It's a beautiful gift bestowed upon you consistently from a loving,
Gentle,
All-knowing father.
The Lord understands that rest is a necessity.
He built rest into your being.
You freely take it.
It's yours,
Just as your next heartbeat is yours.
So too is rest.
For I will satisfy the weary soul and every languishing soul I will replenish.
In the quiet and stillness of the night,
You are replenished,
You are restored,
You are renewed,
You are safe,
You are whole,
You are loved,
You are cared for,
You are molded and crafted in the hands of the Lord,
Shaped for your divine purpose,
Knitted together for the purposes that God created you.
Wisdom and love surround you,
Joy and peace encamp around you.
I will satisfy the weary soul and every languishing soul I will replenish.
Settling into peace,
Settling into rest,
Settling into the present moment,
Not looking back,
Not looking ahead,
But being right here,
Right now,
In sweet,
In sweet,
Sweet peace,
No expectations,
Just rest.
For I will satisfy the weary soul and every languishing soul I will replenish.
Dear heavenly heavenly and most gracious father,
Thank you so much for rest,
For building rest into who I am,
For creating rest to develop me,
To ease me,
To replenish and restore me.
Thank you for divine rest.
