In this practice, we will scan the body with gratitude. Giving thanks to the body, systematically from the top of the head to the tips of the toes. We will acknowledge the power, grace, and beauty of the human body and all of it's parts. After this meditation, you will feel connected to your body, grateful for it's innate wisdom.

This is a guided meditation in which we will scan the body and cultivate gratitude as we scan.

So let's begin by finding a comfortable position,

Whether you are seated upright or lying down.

Once you're there,

Take a deep breath in through the nose.

Exhale,

Let it go.

Close the eyes.

Relax the forehead.

Relax the hands.

And right away,

Acknowledging the body and its power.

Acknowledging its beauty,

Its grace,

Its innate wisdom.

Bring your awareness to the top of the head.

Giving thanks to the highest point in our body.

And scan the skull.

Feel the power and protection of the skull.

The way it shelters the mind.

Bring your full awareness to the complexity and the beauty of the mind.

Its ability to create,

To perceive,

To filter your experience as a human.

Bring your awareness to the skin on your face.

Notice how sensitive it might be.

And bring your awareness to your forehead.

Giving thanks to your forehead.

Bring your awareness to your eyebrows.

Giving thanks to your eyebrows.

Bring your awareness to your eyes.

Your powerful eyes that perceive and witness so much in each moment.

Bring your awareness to the nose.

Giving thanks for all the breath that filters through the nose.

Its ability to smell.

And giving thanks to the mouth.

Your lips.

Your strong teeth.

The tongue which tastes and articulates your dreams,

Your thoughts,

Your desires.

Giving thanks to the ears.

That hear sounds near and far.

The ears ability to listen.

Giving thanks to the neck and the throat.

Giving thanks for the shoulders.

And the arms,

The elbows.

Giving thanks to the wrists and the hands that hold and create and feel.

Each of the fingers.

Giving thanks for the chest.

The breastbone.

Giving thanks to the heart.

That beats effortlessly.

That feels deeply.

That holds wisdom.

Giving thanks to the ribs for protecting our lungs.

And our lungs which transmute the air that sustains us.

Breathe in deeply into the lungs.

Exhale,

Let it go.

Bring your awareness to your stomach.

Your beautiful belly that digests so much and holds so much power.

So much wisdom.

Giving thanks to the back body for its strength.

The spine.

In which energy flows freely up and down the spine.

Giving thanks to the hips.

And the sits bones.

Bringing awareness to the reproductive organs.

Acknowledging its sensitivity and its power to create life.

Giving thanks to the thighs.

The knees.

The shins.

The calves.

Giving thanks to the ankles.

The top of the feet.

The bottom of the feet.

That touch this earth,

That keep us grounded.

And giving thanks to the toes.

Acknowledging your body.

Its power.

Its sensitivity.

Its desire to serve you and your consciousness.

Take a deep breath in through the nose.

Exhale,

Let it go.

Honoring the body and its wisdom.
