Let's start going deeper,
Deeper into our awareness.
As soon as we start the sessions,
Let's collect our awareness as quickly as possible.
As we bring it all together.
Let's bring our awareness to the space beneath our nostrils and see just how sharp we can get it.
And then now as we move to the body to practice Vipassana.
Let's go a little bit deeper into sensation.
As you move up the nose to the point between the brows,
Let's rest here for a while.
And let's see how deeply we can penetrate into this point.
Fixating on a sensation here,
Feeling the boundaries,
The shape,
The quality,
The size.
Is it fixed or fluid?
The center.
Are there other sensations inside this sensation?
If so,
Go deeply into them and fixate on one of these more subtle,
Smaller sensations.
Let's use this method to penetrate the body and go deeper into every point we stop at.
So we get closer and closer to the fundamental nature of reality.
Let's start this practice in this evening session.
As we move around the body from this point between the brows up to the top of the head.
Feeling every point deeply and feeling the entire network of sensations associated with it deeply as well.
The deeper we go within,
The more clarity we can have without.
And today we've started to practice meditating on things outside of us.
So let's use these sessions as we sit to go deeper and deeper within.
OK.
Now,
Wherever you are in the body,
Start to collect your awareness.
Collect your awareness at the point between the brows.
If this isn't yet a position of awareness for you,
Where you can rest comfortably,
Then simply go to the breath.
Feel the breath coming in and out of the nostrils.
Then return to practicing Anupana.
And then when your awareness is collected,
If you're meditating with a partner,
Turn towards your partner,
Maintaining a stable distance between you.
Open your eyes.
And allow yourself to remain fixated on your sensations while simply looking at your partner.
Your sensations,
Your breath,
Is still the main object of your awareness.
It's still the main object of your meditation.
You're simply opening your eyes and allowing yourself to see this person in front of you.
Allowing them to become an object of your awareness,
An object of your meditation.
You're not communicating,
You're not smiling,
Changing your facial expression.
If you feel uncomfortable at the unusualness of this,
Good.
Simply feel these sensations and don't react using the same method we've been using to meditate on everything.
And allow your face to return to a state of naturalness as you meditate on this person in front of you.
If you don't have a partner,
Then get the mirror,
The freestanding mirror that we advised you to prepare before this course and place it in front of you.
And use yourself,
Your own face,
As your own object of meditation.
In this way,
We train ourselves to maintain our stable,
Focused awareness whilst looking at another human being.
Let's continue our practice now.
And then when you're ready,
Simply close your eyes and return to your practice of Vipassana.
Vipassana is always our main practice of meditation.
Meditating on our internal world.
And then using the other techniques as necessary.
Just continue to practice.
And then when you're ready,
Just close your eyes and return to your practice of Vipassana.
And then when you're ready,

Now,
As our sessions end,
Let's start to get used to collecting our clarity and awareness.
And not letting them disperse.
Let our awareness grow and collect.
Gather it together before we change posture or leave our mat or leave the hall.
Use it as an opportunity to go deeper into practice,
Not to come out of it,
To take this awareness we've generated into the next thing.
Maintaining this continuous unbroken thread of awareness.
This clarity,
This beauty that we carry through our lives.
