All of our inner resistance, pain, and anxiety is based on an assumption that isn't true. When you see clearly, you realize that violence is impossible because you are inherently free and nothing is missing. This talk invites you to let go of the fear of being wrong and step into the non-judgemental space where truth sets you free.

This is what I love about actually talking to people,

To,

I guess,

Dig into the perceived reality of their everyday life,

Talk about what's happening,

To ask questions about it.

There's so many things that are seen that weren't seen before,

Right?

It's like finding a space to get out of the mind,

You see a bigger picture,

Which is to see more of the truth.

And to see more of the truth,

It has to be the case that more love is seen,

Which also means there's less fear.

How can that not have an extraordinary impact on your life?

Really?

Because isn't that the whole dilemma?

And again,

To tell a story about it,

We want more love to flow,

Which is to say we wanna be at peace,

We wanna be more present,

We wanna be less scared,

Less judgmental.

And all of these things that we want less of is simply an indication that we are not seeing the truth of things.

We have a very narrow perspective,

Which in some way is convinced it's the whole picture.

And sometimes it can be quite hard to see beyond that,

Especially when there's pain involved.

Which is why it's so important to take moments like this,

To be held for someone to hold space for you,

Which is to completely allow you to see what you see.

There's no judgment.

And allow you to exhale it,

To breathe fully.

What do you think is happening?

And then once you exhale,

We can take an honest look at what you think is going on.

It's not you should think this,

Or you should think that.

The question is,

Okay,

What's really happening here?

And I can tell you that the pain that might be carried,

The resistance,

The tension,

The anxiety,

Is all based on an assumption about what's happening that's not really happening.

There's like a fear that it's happening.

And once you see clearly,

Again,

Not that you should or shouldn't,

But once you just see,

It becomes impossible to not release it.

Because again,

It's there because we believe it's true.

And so to help you see that it's not true is to release it.

I can see clearly now the pain has gone.

But we could also say,

The pain is gone because I'm willing to see more clearly now because you'll notice that in the pain,

Right?

So often we don't wanna see what's clear.

We wanna be right,

Which is to also say we're so afraid of being wrong,

Which is an invitation to see that it's totally okay if you're wrong in the way of you weren't seeing things clearly.

That's okay.

That happens all the time.

Get used to it.

Isn't that such a common experience to be afraid of being wrong?

Which makes us so determined to be right,

Which makes us cling tightly to the way we see things.

My goodness,

And I've seen it in myself,

And I've seen it in others,

Where we can act out in the most violent ways to reinforce how much we think we're right.

We might call it justified violence,

But you won't even call it violence.

You'll call it justified revenge.

Justified blaming.

Justified judgment.

It's so funny how we justify these things.

In some way,

All violence is justified.

Justified in the sense of we can make it make sense.

But in order to make it make sense,

We have to make a lot of assumptions about reality that are not true at all.

And the more you look at what's really true,

Violence is impossible.

Because in one way,

Maybe you can see this,

That violence can only happen because you think somebody else has the thing you're missing.

And again,

That's sort of a rough way to say it.

It's almost like saying you think you're not free and it's because of somebody else.

So you need to be violent to the other to reclaim your freedom.

Or the other person makes you out of control,

Therefore you need to control the other person to regain your control.

You could also say that that's violence.

But the more you look into that,

The truth of what is,

The truth of what you are,

You see that you are inherently free.

Nothing is missing.

And nobody else has what you really want in this life.

Therefore,

What is there to take from anyone else?

And again,

Yeah,

Sure,

Maybe I'm talking about this on a deeply spiritual level,

But for me,

There's not much difference between spirituality and real life.

Which is to also say,

Sure,

In the illusion of things,

It may not seem relevant.

Isn't that funny?

In the illusion of things,

The truth doesn't matter.

Yeah,

You're kind of right.

But what do you want,

The truth of things or the illusions?

Since the illusions don't actually give you anything.

Which is kind of funny because the illusion helps you hide from the truth of things,

Not realizing that the truth of things is what you actually want.

And it's all so sweetly innocent.
