Imagine standing where the land meets the sea,
Hearing the waves and feeling the rhythm of the tides.
In this short meditation,
We'll let that rhythm wash through us,
Calming our mind,
Steadying the body,
And reconnecting us to something timeless.
Welcome to Grounded with Wendy.
If you've been carrying stress or moving too quickly,
This is your invitation to pause,
To breathe with the ocean,
And to let yourself be carried by its gentle pull.
And find whatever feels good in your meditation practice,
Seated,
Walking,
Lying down,
Eyes open or eyes closed.
Let your breath become your anchor.
Let everything out,
And then slowly inhale through your nose,
Filling your lungs,
And then gently letting that tightness drift away.
And simply feel your body kind of easing any fastness that's happening.
And imagine yourself standing at the shoreline,
The fast water stretching out before you.
It's endlessness across the horizon.
It's aliveness.
It's peacefulness.
You can hear the steady rhythm of the waves as they roll in,
Inhale,
And as they retreat,
Exhale.
Feel like you're really mirroring the rhythm of the tides.
There's a gentle pull coming in and a gentle pull going out.
Draw in and then release out.
And one of the things that brings me so much peace is this has been happening for millions and millions of years,
A timeless rhythm that also lives within our own body.
And when we go to it,
When we tap into that rhythm of our body,
We can feel more grounded,
Feel more capable of choosing wise action,
And feeling a settledness amongst the chaos of life.
And even as you breathe in,
Feeling that tide kind of flowing over you and through you and filling you up with its own vitality,
Really nourishing you.
And as you breathe out,
Releasing,
Letting the water carry away anything that is sticky or icky or doesn't feel so good to your soul,
This practice is so cleansing,
It's studying,
And it's grounding.
And now let's move to the feet.
Feel your feet connected to the earth beneath you in that salty sand.
And how the ocean is really held by the shoreline.
And you also are held by the ground,
Supported,
Steady,
In a really comfortable,
Soothing,
Grounded space.
It might even be fun to have this feeling kind of wash over you,
Starting with your head softening,
Your brows and your shoulders,
Over your chest and belly,
Washing down your legs,
Having it wash through you.
This great rhythm is something we belong to,
You belong to it,
And it belongs to you.
And the invitation today is to simply be able to take even just one deep breath in the middle of big decisions,
Small decisions,
Any kind of input that you need to be discerning about.
And let your breath and the tidal rhythm bring you some grounded energy,
Perhaps an infusion of vitality.
And as you bring your awareness back into the moment,
Feeling that grounded rhythm walk through you for the rest of the day.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
