It's time for our story.
This is another story about Danny the Magic Dragon.
The kind and gentle dragon whose magical sparkles bring warm light,
And wonder to everyone he meets.
In today's story,
Danny finds something very special.
And he learns that sharing with friends makes everything even more magical.

Let's begin.
Once upon a time,
In a cozy cave nestled between two mountains,
There lived a little dragon named Danny.
Danny lived with his mom.
His dad.
And his little sister Daisy.
Danny loved his family very much.
Danny had purple scales that sparkled like jewels in the sunlight.
And big eyes that glowed with their very own special light.
But there was one thing that made Danny different from the other dragons in his family.
While his mom,
His dad,
And even his little sister Daisy could breathe big,
Bright flames of fire,
Danny breathes sparkles.
Tiny colorful swirling sparkles in gold,
Purple,
Pink,
And blue.
It was a beautiful spring morning in the Whispering Woods.
Danny was exploring near Rainbow Creek when he spotted something sparkling in the water.
There,
Nestled between two smooth river stones,
Was the most beautiful crystal he had ever seen.
It was about the size of a plum.
And it shimmered with all the colors of the rainbow.
When the sunlight hit it just right,
Tiny little rainbows danced on the water and the rocks all around it.
Wow,
Danny whispered,
Carefully picking it up.
He held the crystal up to the light.
And his purple scales lit up with all the rainbow colors.
This is the most beautiful thing I've ever found,
He said.
And then Danny noticed something even more special.
When he breathed his sparkles near the crystal,
It made his sparkles glow even brighter.
They swirled in the most amazing patterns,
Like fireworks made of glitter and starlight.
This is my special crystal,
Danny said happily,
And he tucked it carefully into his backpack.
I'm going to keep it safe forever and ever.
When Danny got home,
He showed the crystal to his mom.
What a wonderful find!
His mom said.
That's a rainbow crystal.
They are very rare and they're very magical.
It'll make your sparkles even more beautiful,

Danny said,
And he hugged the crystal.
It's mine and I'm never going to let anyone else touch it.
Danny's mom gave him a quiet,
Thoughtful look.
But she didn't say anything just yet.
The next day,
Danny brought his crystal to show his friends.
He found his sister Daisy and Freddy the Fox playing by the old oak tree.
Look what I found,
Danny announced proudly,
And he held up the crystal for them to see.
The crystal caught the sunlight and sent it away.
Beautiful rainbow patterns dancing across the tree trunk.
Whoa,
Said Freddy,
His eyes wide.
That's amazing,
Danny.
Can I hold it?
Danny quickly pulled the crystal away.

It's mine.
He might drop it.

Freddy said.

Danny said firmly.

Ruby the dragon flew over to join them.
Hi everyone,
What are you all looking at?
Danny found a rainbow crystal,

Can you show Ruby your crystal?
Danny held the crystal up.
But when Ruby reached out to touch it.

It was still beautiful.
The rainbow colors still danced and swirled.
But somehow it didn't feel as special as it had that morning.
Danny's mom came and sat down beside him.
You seem sad,
Danny.
Is everything okay?
I don't know,
Danny said slowly.
I have this amazing crystal and it's the best thing ever.
But today wasn't fun at all.
My friends all went home and now I'm just sitting here all by myself.
Can I ask you something?
Danny's mom said gently.
When you first found the crystal this morning,
How did you feel?
Oh,
So happy,
Danny said.
Like my heart was going to burst.
And when your friends wanted to see it and touch it,
How did you feel then?
Asked Danny's mom.
Danny thought for a moment.
Worried.
He said.
Worried they might break it.
Or that it wouldn't feel as special if everyone got to enjoy it too.
And right now.
Danny's mom asked.
How do you feel now?
Danny looked down at the crystal in his little claws.
Lonely,
He said in a very small voice.
And the crystal doesn't feel as magical anymore.
Do you know why?
Danny's mom asked.
Danny shook his head.
Because joy grows when we share it.
Danny's mom said gently.
When we keep something wonderful all to ourselves,
That happy feeling gets smaller and smaller.
But when we share something wonderful with others,
The happy feeling gets bigger and bigger for everyone.
But what if someone breaks it?
Danny asked.
I understand,
Danny's mom said.
But think about this.
What's better,
Keeping your crystal safe in your bag where nobody can enjoy it?
Or sharing the magic with your friends.
Even if there's a tiny little risk.
Danny thought about his friend's sad faces.
And he thought about how happy he was when he first found the crystal in the creek.
I think I was being selfish,
Danny said quietly.
You were trying to protect something special,
Danny's mom said kindly.
But yes,
A little bit selfish too.
The good news is you can always choose differently tomorrow.
The very next morning,
Danny flew straight to the big oak tree where his friends loved to play.

And Ruby were there,
Playing a game of tag.

Danny called out.
I want to apologize.
I'm very sorry about yesterday.
I wasn't being a very good friend.
Can I show you something?
His friends came over,
Not quite sure what to expect.
Danny pulled out his rainbow crystal and he held it up high.
This crystal is really special,
He said.

It's not nearly as special as having friends like you to share it with.
Who wants to see what happens when I use my sparkles with it?

Freddy's tail started wagging with excitement.

Danny said with a big smile.
Danny took a deep breath and he blew his magical sparkles toward the crystal.
The sparkles and the rainbow light mixed together.
And what happened next was the most spectacular,
Most beautiful thing any of them had ever seen.
Rainbow patterns swirl through the air like dancing ribbons.
Stars and flowers and twisting spirals made of light filled the sky all around them.
It's beautiful.
Ruby gasped.
It's like magic.
Daisy said.
Yes,
And it's even more beautiful when I can see my friend's happy faces,
Danny said.
And he knew in his heart that it was absolutely completely true.
The joy inside him felt ten times bigger than it had when he was keeping the crystal all to himself.
Ruby,

Danny asked.
Ruby's eyes went wide.

I'm sure.

Ruby held the crystal so carefully,
Like it was made of soap bubbles.
