Hello darling,
I'm so happy you're here.
Welcome to this guided yoga nidra practice where we will journey into deep relaxation,
Surrender,
And inner alignment.
Today we will focus on the beautiful concept of surrender,
Of letting go of control,
And trusting in life's natural flow.
Before we begin,
Take some time now to settle into a comfortable position,
Lying down on your back with your arms at your sides,
Your palms facing upward as a gesture of openness and receptivity.
You might want to place a blanket over your body or use a pillow for additional comfort.
Allow your body to be fully supported,
Taking a moment to ensure you are completely at ease.
As you begin to settle,
Gently close your eyes when you're ready,
Bringing your awareness inward.
There's nowhere else you need to be and nothing else you need to do.
This time is for you to rest,
To release,
And to surrender.
Take a deep breath in,
Filling your lungs completely,
And as you exhale,
Release any tension in your body.
Allow your body to sink deeper into the earth with each exhale,
Noticing now the natural rhythm of your breath.
Feel your body soften with each exhale,
Letting go of the need to hold on or control.
In this practice,
We explore the art of surrendering,
Of trusting in a force greater than ourselves.
Many spiritual traditions teach us that surrendering to the will of the universe is not about passivity or giving up.
Instead,
It is about releasing our tight grip on outcomes and allowing life to unfold as it will.
This is not about resignation,
It's about trust.
Trust that the universe is working in harmony with our highest good,
Even when things don't go as we expect.
In your own life,
Consider how often you feel the need to control the future,
Outcomes,
Or even other people.
How does that need for control weigh on you?
Imagine how freeing it would be to let go of this burden,
To trust that the universe is guiding you in the direction you are meant to go.
Surrender doesn't mean you stop taking action or abandon your ambitions.
It simply means you are no longer attached to rigid expectations.
You can manifest your desires and pursue your goals,
But with a lighter heart,
Knowing that you are supported by the natural flow of life and that the right opportunities will come when the time is right.
Take a moment now to reflect on this idea of surrender.
As you continue to breathe slowly and deeply,
Feel your body releasing any resistance,
Allowing yourself to fully rest in this present moment.
With each breath,
Let go a little more.
Now that your body and mind are settling into a state of relaxation,
Bring to mind your sankalpa,
A positive,
Heartfelt intention that reflects on your deepest desires.
Your sankalpa is a seed of transformation,
A resolution that aligns with your true self and the flow of the universe.
Take a moment to reflect on what is most important to you right now.
Your sankalpa could be a quality you wish to cultivate,
Such as peace,
Confidence,
Or self-love.
It could also be a direction you wish to take in your life,
Like healing,
Growth,
Or letting go of old patterns.
Once you've identified your sankalpa,
Phrase it as a short,
Positive statement in the present tense,
As if it is already true.
For this practice today,
You might like to use the following sankalpa.
I trust the flow of life.
Silently repeat your sankalpa to yourself three times,
Feeling its meaning resonate deeply within you.
Trust that this intention is supported by the universe and will manifest in its own time and in its own way.
Now I'll guide your awareness through the body,
Bringing your focused attention to each part.
Allow your awareness to saturate each part of your body as I name it,
Starting at the crown of your head,
Center of the forehead,
Both eyes,
The muscles around your eyes,
Tip of the nose,
Lips,
Jaw,
Your entire face,
Neck,
Center of the chest,
Right shoulder.
Notice traveling down your right arm,
Into your elbow,
Wrist,
Hand,
Tip of the right thumb,
Second finger,
Third finger,
Fourth finger,
Fifth finger,
Center of the hand,
Wrist,
Elbow,
Shoulder,
Center of the chest,
Left shoulder.
Traveling down through your left arm,
Into your elbow,
Wrist,
Hand,
Tip of the left thumb,
Second finger,
Third finger,
Fourth finger,
Fifth finger,
Center of the hand,
Wrist,
Elbow,
Shoulder,
Collarbone.
Let your awareness move down into your rib cage,
Upper abdomen,
Lower abdomen,
Pelvis,
Pelvis,
Right hip,
Knee,
Ankle,
Foot,
Right big toe,

Feel your whole body now.
Your awareness saturating your entire body,
From head to toe,
The whole body.
Now,
Shift your awareness to your breath.
Notice the natural rise and fall of your chest and abdomen as you breathe in and out.
There's no need to change the breath.
Simply observe it as if you are watching the ocean waves rise and fall.
As you breathe in,
Imagine you are receiving energy from the universe.
As you exhale,
Release any need to control the outcome of events in your life.
Natural breath.
Inhale trust.
Exhale surrender.
Inhale peace.
Exhale resistance.
With each breath,
Feel yourself becoming more in tune with the flow of life,
The natural rhythm of the universe moving through you.
Just as the breath flows effortlessly,
So too can your life when you align with the flow of the universe.
Trust that with each breath,
You are surrendering more and more deeply to the present moment.
In this state of deep relaxation,
Imagine yourself standing on the edge of a calm flowing river.
This river represents the flow of the universe,
Always moving,
Always guiding.
You watch as the water moves gently around stones and bends,
Never resisting,
Always flowing with ease and grace.
As you stand at the riverbank,
You feel the cool breeze on your skin,
The sound of the water soothing your mind.
Take a moment to reflect on any areas of your life where you may feel resistance,
Perhaps areas where you're trying to control outcomes,
Or where you may be holding on too tightly.
Can you recognize that,
Just like the river,
Life moves in its own way and in its own time?
Imagine stepping into the river.
Feel the gentle current around you,
Supporting and guiding you.
With each step,
Allow yourself to surrender more deeply to the flow.
Now,
Allow yourself to float in the river,
Feeling the current carry you effortlessly downstream.
You no longer need to resist.
Just let go,
Trusting that the river will take you trusting that the river will take you exactly where you need to be.
There is no need to struggle,
No need to try to control where the river takes you.
Trust that the river knows the way,
Just as the universe knows the way for you.
With each breath,
Allow any worries,
Fears,
Or doubts to dissolve in the water.
Feel the freedom of surrendering completely,
Knowing that you are always guided and supported guided and supported by a force greater than yourself.
You are one with the flow of the universe,
Allowing life to unfold naturally,
Just like the river flows with ease.
As you continue to float in this peaceful river,
Gently bring your sankalpa back into your awareness.
Silently repeat it to yourself three more times,
Feeling it as a truth that already exists within you.
Trust that the universe is working in harmony with this intention,
And that it will manifest in perfect timing.
I trust the flow of life.
As you repeat your sankalpa,
Imagine it as a seed planted deep within your heart.
Trust that,
Like all things in nature,
It will grow and unfold in its own time,
Supported by the flow of the universe.
Gradually,
Begin to bring your awareness back to your physical body.
Feel the gentle rise and fall of your breath.
Notice the weight of your body resting on the surface beneath you.
Notice the temperature of the air on your skin.
You might wiggle your fingers and toes,
Inviting small movements into your body as you slowly reawaken.
You may want to stretch your arms overhead,
Or gently roll your head from side to side.
When you are ready,
Take a deep,
Nourishing breath in,
And as you exhale,
Roll over to one side.
As you come back to full awareness,
Carry with you the sense of peace and trust that you've cultivated in this practice.
Slowly open your eyes when you're ready,
And as you move back into your day,
Remember that the flow of the universe is always guiding you.
