Welcome to the Root Chakra Grounding Meditation.
Find a comfortable place to sit where you won't be disturbed.
The Root Chakra is located at the base of your spine and associated with the color red and the element of the earth.
You can hold a grounding stone in your palms,
Do this meditation outdoors on the ground,
Or burn an incense you feel grounds you.
Let's begin.
Roll your shoulders back,
Wiggle your chin,
Releasing tension.
Relax your body as you breathe in and out slowly.
Let the world fade away as you close your eyes and exhale.
Visualize yourself sitting on the ground with a gentle breeze.
This chakra is located at the base of your spine,
So imagine roots begin to grow,
Extending into the ground,
Anchoring you to the earth.
Feel that connection.
Say out loud or to yourself,
I am safe,
Secure and grounded.
Bring your focus to the base of your spine where the roots begin.
Imagine a ball of red energy spinning slowly and growing warmer.
Extend that warmth throughout your body.
Feel it warm down your legs,
Up to your stomach and your chest.
Feel it in your heart,
Your shoulders,
Neck and your head.
If you feel resistance,
That's okay.
Go slow and allow the warmth to fill it as it can.
Feel this warmth throughout your body.
Break up and dissolve any discomfort,
Pain or stress,
Sending it into the earth.
Feel the warmth in your head as it dissipates.
Now,
Say to yourself out loud or inside your head,
I am enough.
I am enough.
You are strong and powerful just as you are,
Supported by the earth flowing through you.
Storms of emotions and struggles in life may pass by you,
Through you,
But your core remains connected and strong,
Grounding you and giving you a foundation.
Place one hand on your lower belly and one over your heart and breathe deeply.
Feel the energy move within you,
Cleansing all the negativity,
Letting it flow down through the roots into the earth's core to be cleansed.
Pay attention to how your body feels right now.
How light is your head?
Sit with this feeling in the semi-meditative state and remember how it feels so you can return to this feeling anytime you want.
Repeat silently or out loud,
I am safe.
I am supported.
I trust in the stability of my life.
My roots are strong and I belong here.
Feel these words resonating in your body,
Strengthening your connection to the earth.
Slowly bring your awareness back to your breath.
Wiggle your fingers and toes and when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
The journal prompt for this meditation is Where in my life do I need more stability or security?
