Welcome,
Sweet soul.
Take a moment to arrive.
Let the volume of the day drop one notch,
Enough to hear the beliefs you've been quietly telling yourself,
And to choose beliefs that serve the person you're becoming.
Let your breath flow naturally,
And take a quiet moment to appreciate it,
The steady rhythm that's been with you all day.
Just notice it,
Let it help you listen more closely.
Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Let your attention move gently through your body,
Noticing your scalp,
Your forehead,
Your head,
Your eyes,
The space behind your eyes.
Let the muscles of your face soften.
Unclench the jaw,
And let your tongue rest.
Today,
We are updating one belief,
Without judgment,
Blame,
Or shame,
Just to update what no longer belongs to you.
Feel your shoulders.
Notice if they've been carrying anything heavy.
Let them drop a bit.
Let your hands relax.
Soften your belly,
Your hips.
You are here,
And you are safe enough to be here in this moment.
Beliefs are powerful.
They shape what you expect,
What you allow,
What you reach for.
They influence the choices you make.
They shape the energy you bring into a room,
And they inform the energy you bring into your own life.
Take a deep inhale,
And let go of any remaining tension as you exhale.
A belief can feel like truth,
But often it's an internal instruction,
A sentence written long ago,
Repeated enough times that it started to feel like reality.
Some beliefs were formed when we were young,
To belong,
To stay safe,
To be loved.
Some were absorbed through family or culture,
Through what you were praised for,
And what you were punished for.
Some were built through repetition,
Through disappointment,
Through moments that left an imprint.
And even when a belief was designed to protect you,
It may no longer be aligned with who you are now,
Who you're becoming.
You are a sovereign being.
You have free will,
And you can revise your beliefs.
You can choose again.
You are the author of your life,
And you can write and rewrite your beliefs anytime you wish,
With clear intention and honest presence.
Bring to mind one limiting belief you are ready to release today.
One sentence.
One instruction.
If the belief feels tied to something overwhelming,
Choose a gentler one.
Something you can work with safely.
Something your system can accept without feeling too activated.
Perhaps your belief sounds something like,
I have to do everything myself,
Or it's not safe to be seen,
Or I have to earn love.
Now craft the new belief you want to install in its place.
A new instruction.
One your body can accept.
Not a dramatic leap,
In other words,
But a real replacement.
For instance,
I have to do everything myself might become,
Support is always available,
And I know how to receive it.
It's not safe to be seen becomes,
It is safe to be seen by the right people.
I have to earn love might become,
I am worthy of love,
Just as I am.
The new belief should be present tense,
Clear,
And specific.
Take a breath,
And quietly name your old belief now.
And quietly name your new belief.
Take a few breaths here,
As you allow yourself to sink deeper into this experience.
Now allow yourself to bring to your imagination a library,
A place that holds the stories you've lived by,
A place that holds the beliefs you have carried.
This inner library is private and unique to you.
It might look like one you've seen before,
Or something entirely new you're creating.
See the library from the outside first.
Notice its shape,
Its size.
The quality of light around it.
The air.
The texture of the ground beneath you as you approach.
Notice any sounds,
Perhaps birds chirping,
Or city traffic,
Or silence.
There is a doorway,
Notice the door now,
The material,
The handle.
Maybe it's cool metal,
Maybe it's warm wood,
Maybe it has markings you can't quite name but you understand.
When you're ready,
Open the door,
Step inside.
Feel the atmosphere of the library,
The hush,
The stillness,
The sense that this place is alive with intelligence.
Notice what's here,
Maybe shelves,
Tables,
A ladder,
A reading nook,
Maybe a corridor that disappears into the distance.
Begin to scan the shelves gently,
There's no need to go searching for the book that holds your belief,
Just allow it to reveal itself.
Maybe one spine brightens,
Maybe you feel drawn toward a section,
Perhaps the book pulls forward from the others,
Or maybe one book is warmer than the rest,
Or clearer.
Let the book make itself known in whatever way feels right.
When you notice the book,
Reach for it,
Take your time,
Feel its weight in your hands.
Notice the texture of the cover,
The color,
Perhaps even the way it smells.
Sit down at a table if you'd like,
And open the book.
Allow the pages to turn until you arrive at the place where this belief is written.
See the words,
The exact sentence,
Notice the way it appears on the page.
Perhaps dark ink,
Or faded,
Maybe it's embossed,
Pressed into the paper,
Stamped,
Or handwritten,
However it appears is fine,
Just notice what you notice.
And as you read the sentence,
Notice what your body does without judgment.
Notice if your throat tightens,
If your chest contracts,
If your shoulders lift.
This belief was a response to something in your environment,
An intelligent way your nervous system tried to keep you safe.
This belief was an attempt at protection,
An attempt at belonging,
Or control,
Or survival.
Take a breath,
And let yourself acknowledge it.
Now choose how you want to remove the words.
You can use an eraser,
You can watch the ink lift away,
You can let light wash over the sentence until it dissolves,
You can let the page simply clear itself,
Like mist evaporating.
Choose the way that feels most natural,
And begin.
As the words disappear,
You release the belief.
And when you're ready,
You can say quietly to yourself,
Thank you for what you tried to do,
But I no longer need you.
Let the page become blank,
Clean,
Ready for something new.
Take a breath,
And notice your body now,
Even if it's subtle,
Even if it's just a tiny release or a little more space.
Now you write the new belief,
Slowly,
Clearly,
With your own hand,
With your own authority.
Write the sentence you chose,
Letting each word land as the letters form.
Let the meaning settle.
In a moment,
You're going to repeat the new belief to yourself three times out loud,
Or in your head.
The same sentence,
Three times,
Like a gentle spell,
Like a steady instruction.
For the first time,
Take one slow grounded breath,
Breathe in,
And as you exhale,
Repeat your new belief.
For the second time,
Let your posture reflect it,
Maybe your shoulders drop,
Maybe your spine lengthens,
Maybe your chin lifts slightly,
As you repeat your new belief again.
Now for the third time,
Place a hand somewhere on your body,
Perhaps your heart,
Throat,
Or solar plexus,
And repeat your new belief one more time.
Notice the difference as you update your internal code.
Now close the book,
Feeling the cover meet the pages,
The quiet finality of it.
Return the book back to its place,
Back to where it belongs,
Updated.
And now begin to let gratitude move through you as you integrate this new belief.
Gratitude for the part of you that was trying to protect you.
Gratitude for the part of you that is choosing something new.
Gratitude for your willingness to meet yourself honestly.
It's time to leave the library now.
You turn and walk back through the space,
Past the shelves,
Past the tables,
Taking a moment to appreciate the quiet intelligence of your inner landscape.
You reach the door and step out,
Letting the door close behind you,
Knowing that your update remains.
Begin to bring your awareness back to your body.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Feel your hands,
Your feet,
And the air on your skin.
Notice the sounds around you,
The room you're in,
The time of day.
Take one more slow breath,
And know that it is done.
Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for your willingness to release what no longer fits,
And to choose what does.
You are allowed to revise the stories that form your life.
You are allowed to update the instructions.
You are allowed to move forward with what's a truer match to the person you're becoming.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes if they were closed,
And return to your day.
The edit is complete.
The old instruction has been cleared.
The new one written.
The book is back on the shelf,
Updated.
True for who you are now.
