A Prayer For The Lonely Places Of Caring
by Dee Hennessy
A prayer from Graced Moments – A Soulful Pause for those who know the quieter loneliness that can accompany caring for someone they love. This short prayer offers a moment of companionship for the unseen places of caregiving — the weariness, changed relationships, difficult decisions and griefs that may be carried quietly. Holding together love and loneliness, it invites us to meet what cannot be changed with tenderness, while remaining open to connection, support and the possibility of receiving care ourselves. At its heart is the simple Irish phrase Sin a bhfuil — “this is what is” — an invitation towards acceptance without resignation, and towards remembering that even in the loneliest seasons, we remain part of a wider web of belonging.
