Hi there,
My name's Deb and I'm a Lactation Consultant and Tongue Tie Practitioner with Dreamfeeds.
I've got a lovely meditation for you right now and it's all about encouraging your milk to flow.
So I want to welcome you to this space and get yourself as comfy and as cosy as possible.
This is a little bit of time just for you.
A little bit of time to relax and rest.
So when you're ready,
In your own time,
I'd like to invite you to take some slow breaths in.
Again,
In your own time,
Just let it out gently.
Again,
A slow breath in.
In your own time,
Just letting it all out gently.
Allow your shoulders to drop away from your ears.
Notice the weight of your body being supported beneath you.
Feeding your baby can sometimes feel full of pressure,
But as you know,
Your milk will flow best in a calm moment when you're relaxed.
So for the next few minutes,
There's nothing you need to do other than focus on your breathing.
This is a bit of time just for you.
I'd like you to imagine a warm golden light in the centre of your chest.
And this warmth represents love,
Connection and oxytocin.
With every breath you take,
This warmth grows and you can feel it begin to spread across your chest,
Down into your breasts.
You're softening,
Opening and relaxing the tiny milk ducts that carry milk to your baby.
You may like to imagine a gentle stream as it begins to flow easily into a quiet river.
Calm,
Steady and natural.
Your body needs you and your baby needs you.
So this is a little bit of time just for you.
Your baby wants closeness and your body responds beautifully to that closeness.
So as you breathe,
Just repeat softly to yourself,
My milk flows easily.
My body responds to my baby.
Each feed helps my supply to grow.
My baby and I are safe and supported.
I'll repeat those again for you.
My milk flows easily.
My body responds to my baby.
Each feed helps my supply to grow.
My baby and I are safe and supported.
And imagine your baby feeding calmly,
Their body pressed against yours,
Their small hands resting against you.
And with each breath you take,
Your body releases more milk.
Your milk is made in response to love and touch and time together.
Every moment you spend with your baby is helping your body to do its work.
You're doing an incredible job.
The whole community of mothers around the world is supporting you right now.
So in your own time,
Focus again on your breathing,
Taking another slow breath,
And gently breathe out any anxiety.
You're doing a wonderful job.
And I want you to carry this calm with you into your next feed.
Keep going mama,
You've got this.
