
Yoga Nidra To Rest In The Protective Sphere Of The Sun
This Yoga Nidra practice allows you to rest deeply in the protective sphere of the sun. As you are guided through the practice, a soft protective space for rest is created. The practice is done laying down on your back or in any way that helps you rest deeply. You are invited to get as comfy and cosy as possible, using any props you need such as a blanket, eyemask and pillows.

Welcome,
I am Gaby.
This Yoga Nidra is an invitation to rest in the protective sphere of the sun.
The sun is the center of our solar system.
It orbits the heart of the Milky Way,
Bringing with it the Earth and all the planets in our solar system.
As the sun is taking us on a ride around the Milky Way,
The sphere of the sun,
The heliosphere,
Protects our solar system from cosmic rays.
The heliosphere protective bubble is formed by the solar wind and the magnetic fields that it drags out into space.
This vast bubble-like region of space shelters us as the sun moves the whole solar system with it in a spiraling dance with the universe.
The Earth is sheltered inside this protective shield.
And so are you.
Take a moment to set up your space.
Maybe you want to dim the lights.
Make sure you have everything you need before you let your body lay down to rest on its back.
Arms to the side.
Legs heavy.
Feet softly falling out.
Once you have laid yourself down,
Let your body melt into the Earth.
Open and close the jaw.
Release any tension in the face as you melt deeper into the Earth.
Lay your eyes closed gently.
Your forehead.
Eyebrows.
Lips.
Your whole face starts to melt.
Soften.
Release.
You can make any adjustments here to ensure that you are resting in absolute comfort as we will be here for a little while.
Invite stillness of the body.
Full awareness of the mind.
Feel your body melt even deeper into the Earth as you take a slow breath in through the nose Let it softly pour out through your mouth with a sigh.
In through the nose.
Softly release through the mouth.
Three more times.
Just like that.
Let that breath pattern go and just observe the flow of your breath.
Watch the breath flow in through the top of your head down to the soles of your feet.
As breath flows out,
Allow your body to merge with the Earth.
The breath continues to flow through you from the top of your head to the soles of your feet.
As you imagine yourself wrapped in the healing light of the sun.
The sun warms your body.
Healing.
Vibrating.
Light.
Dancing on your skin.
Sunlight drips into your bones.
Shines through your whole body.
Melts you even deeper.
Into the Earth.
Your whole body is bathing in sunlight.
Feel this healing light enter with breath through the top of your head down to the soles of your feet.
Just watch how it flows through naturally,
Effortlessly from the top of the head to the soles of the feet.
In and out.
Effortless,
Light breath.
Notice how the sun itself starts to melt through the top of your head with the breath.
It sinks through your midbrain,
Drips and shines down your throat,
And warms up your chest as this infinite light source lands in your heart space.
And as your heart receives this source of light,
We begin the practice of Yoga Nidra.
Feel your heart melting with sun.
Radiant,
Pure source energy.
Pure love.
In your heart.
Allow your sankalpa,
Or your intention,
To awaken in your heart.
Let its vibrations shine through your whole body.
Drip into your bones.
Melt with your blood.
Let its essence shine from your sweet heart as you repeat it three times.
The sunlight travels from your soft,
Warm heart to your right thumb.
Feel your right thumb filled with light.
Radiant.
Your index finger filled with light.
Middle finger.
Your ring finger.
Your pinky finger.
Palm of your hand.
Back of the right hand.
Feel the sunlight warm your wrist.
Let it flow through your forearm.
Shoulder.
Underarm.
Right side of the ribcage and lung.
Waistline.
Thigh.
Knee.
Lower leg.
Top of the right foot.
Sole of the right foot.
Filled with radiant sunlight.
The sun travels to your big toe.
Your second toe.
Your third toe.
Fourth toe.
Baby toe.
Feel the entire right side of your body bathe in healing light.
Your whole right side.
Feel your right side illuminated with sunlight right now.
As the sunlight moves over to your left hand,
It fills your left thumb.
Your index finger.
Middle finger.
Ring finger.
Pinky finger.
Palm of your hand.
Back of the hand.
Sunlight pulses through your wrist.
Your forearm.
Forearm.
Shoulder.
Left side of the ribcage and lung.
Light washes over your waistline.
Your thigh.
Kneecap.
Ankle.
Top of the left foot.
Sole of the left foot.
Into your big toe.
Your second toe.
Third toe.
Fourth toe.
Baby toe.
The entire left side of your body vibrating with healing sunlight.
Whole left side.
Feel the entire left side of your body light up right now.
Feel sunlight up the sole of your right foot,
The sole of your left foot,
The soles of both of your feet together.
Sunlight moves through the back of your right heel,
The back of your left heel.
Feel both heels shining together.
The right calf.
The left calf.
Both calves light up now.
Feel your right leg from your toes to your hip.
Feel your left leg from your toes to your hip.
Feel both of your legs glowing with radiant light.
Light washes through your right calf.
Arm from your fingertips to your shoulder.
Free your left arm from fingertips to shoulder.
Both arms bathing in sunlight.
Feel your arms and your legs soaked in sunlight as your entire torso and your head light up too.
Feel and sense your entire body vibrating with light.
Your whole body.
Feel your whole body right now.
Whole body bathing in sunlight.
Your whole body bathing in breath.
As breath flows in,
Sunlight pours out through every cell of your body.
Shines from the inside out.
The out-breath takes you home to your heart.
Watch the breath fill up your whole body as radiant sunlight expands through your skin,
Eliminates the whole space you're in.
Breathe out as you land in your heart.
Breath flows in,
Sunlight pours out through your body,
Expands beyond any imaginable place.
Breath flows out,
You rest in the radiance of your own heart.
Feel this vibrating sunlight continue to expand further and further into space with each breath.
How far can you shine?
How deep in your heart can you rest?
Continue to observe this expansion and contraction of light with your breath.
Now we will explore the mental-emotional body.
As I name different feeling states,
Dive into that state as deep as you want and as gently as you need.
Allow the feeling of being abandoned arise in your body.
Let the feeling of abandonment wash over you,
Through you.
How does it feel to be abandoned?
What sensations arise in your bones,
In your cells,
In your body when you feel abandoned?
Release that experience into the healing light of the sun.
Let the feeling of being supported wash over you.
Bathe in the feeling of being supported.
How does supported feel in your bones,
In your cells,
In your body?
Allow yourself to feel fully,
Unconditionally supported right now.
Let that melt into the sun and come back home to your heart.
Let the feeling of being exposed fill your whole being.
How does it feel to be exposed?
What does being exposed feel like in your bones,
In your blood,
In your cells,
In your body?
Let the light of the sun wash that away and allow the feeling of being protected pour over you.
What does it feel like being fully protected?
What sensations arise in your bones,
Your cells,
Your blood,
Your body when you feel fully protected?
Let that experience melt away in the sunlight as you land back in your heart.
Feel your whole body vibrating with beaming light as the sun moves from your beating,
Loving heart and lands in your brow center.
Where the sun shining from your brow center,
This radiant energy pours out and creates a protective sphere around you.
It expands into a vast bubble-like region of space around your whole body.
As you find yourself inside this vast space,
You notice that this transparent bubble is moving,
Floating.
It takes you far out through the atmosphere of the earth,
Further out into the universe.
The protective sphere of the sun moves you softly,
Silently through dark starlit space,
Planets and stars passing by.
As you continue to travel through infinite space held in this protective bubble,
Cosmic rays and sparkling dust from ancient galactic events create images on this bubble-like shield that you are in.
Their radiance project images that you can see from inside this protective sphere,
As if you were looking at a huge round-shaped movie screen surrounding you on all sides.
What do you see?
What is the universe showing you?
These images fade away as you move beyond,
Deeper and deeper into space.
Stillness gets thicker in this ancient deep silence of space and then you hear a soft whispering echo through the stars.
Listen.
What do you hear?
What is the universe telling you?
The echo gets absorbed as you move deeper into the silence of infinite space.
A layer of awareness expands into this ancient deep silence of space.
Let yourself go.
I'm here.
I'll come get you in a moment.
You start to feel the gravity of the Earth calling you back home.
Earth rises up to hold you as she welcomes your body home,
Your whole body resting on the surface of the Earth,
Softly glowing,
Held in light.
Layers on Kalpa shine out from your heart,
Melt into your blood,
Spark light every cell of your body,
Echo through your bones as you repeat it three times.
The practice of Yoga Nidra is now complete.
As you slowly awaken and come back to the space that you're resting in,
Notice any sounds,
Smells,
Any sensations in the body.
Softly,
Sweetly,
Gently begin to deepen your breath.
Take a deep breath and feel into your whole body.
Invite soft movements in your fingers and your toes.
You can move your body in any way that feels good.
Stretching,
Moving,
Breathing as you slowly awaken and come back.
Give yourself time to wake up.
You can stay here for as long as you want.
Whenever you're ready,
And if it feels right,
Gently roll onto your favourite side.
Take a few moments to listen to the sound of the Earth before you set yourself up.
Let a memory of the softness of the sun and the vastness of space integrate with the essence of your being.
Welcome yourself back.
