Welcome to this beautiful walking meditation.
You may want to choose to do this meditation sitting down at home with your eyes closed.
Maybe you're sitting on a train and you just need a break.
A quick walk in nature.
Or,
If you are actually out walking,
Feel free to put your headphones on but please keep your eyes open as you wander.
We're going to be enjoying a gentle walk through the forests of Japan.
We'll take a walking meditation for about five or so minutes so please either sit back and relax and enjoy the sounds or,
If you're out walking,
Enjoy a slightly different perspective.
As you're walking,
Try and keep your pace even.
A meditative footstep.
Take the time to observe all that's around you.
The path ahead of you,
Be it smooth or rocky.
The trees around you,
Are they tall and leafy?
Or perhaps it's winter and they're bare and there's some snow.
Just observe,
Be aware of what you see.
As you let your senses take over,
What you hear.
As you let your senses take over,
What you hear,
What you see or what you smell.
Become aware that your mind is becoming calm.
Your thoughts are no longer racing.
Focus on everything around you.
It's time to head back now.
You've had a walk through a beautiful forest,
Up some slight hills.
You've seen trees and smelt the forest.
Heard waterfalls and streams.
And your mind has become calm.
You're ready to move on to whatever challenges the day has ahead of you.
Thank you for taking this walking meditation with me.
Looking forward to joining you next time.
Thank you.
