Welcome to this special meditation and reflection process where you'll be looking back on the past year,
The gifts and challenges,
The people that made it truly special,
And looking forward to dreaming what's yet to unfold.
As you prepare for this practice,
Making sure you have a pen and paper handy,
And taking a moment to get yourself into a comfortable yet alert seated posture.
One where you feel your sitting bones grounding on the surface underneath you,
And the crown of the head reaching up towards the sky.
Begin by just taking a few gentle breaths to bring yourself into this meditative and reflective state.
As you reflect back on this past year,
The people and places that made it truly special,
Begin by focusing on the things that you're grateful for,
What we might call your gratitudes from the past year.
You might go back and start in January of last year,
Or you might just allow these memories to come up around special times,
Moments,
People,
And places.
As we reflect on these experiences,
We naturally receive a boost of our endorphins,
Our happy feelings,
To allow yourself to revel in those as you reflect back on the gifts of this past year,
Considering the moments and the people that made these moments special.
You can hold these in your heart,
Or you can jot these down as they come to you.
If you need a little longer to do this process,
You can pause the recording,
Or you can carry on.
As you now take a minute and you reflect back on the challenges of the past year,
And as you contemplate these challenges,
Consider your strength and what supported you to get through these challenges.
Take a moment and acknowledge yourself for having the strength,
The strength to face these challenges,
And just knowing that behind you are the ancestors,
Friends,
Others that helped to hold you up and support you in these times of challenge.
Take a moment and feel that energetically.
Maybe people's faces pop to mind,
Or you remember a close ancestor.
Bringing that to mind now,
And acknowledging your gratitude for this support from perhaps the unseen realm.
Once that feels like that is complete,
Turning towards the highlights of the year once more.
Who were the highlights of your year,
And who was there with you for these highlights?
Allowing those memories to flood back to you.
Take a moment and send support and acknowledgement to yourself,
As well as to all those people and beings who were there supporting you in physical form and energetically.
And now,
As you see a new year before you,
Maybe you imagine that you have a calendar,
Maybe even your digital day timer,
However you keep track of things in time.
See that here in front of you.
Perhaps imagine writing 2026 on the cover.
Contemplate perhaps one intention that you have for the new year.
The intention may be something concrete,
Or a way of being,
Or an aspiration.
Allow that to come to you now.
Consider what might support you with this goal or intention.
And asking yourself what's important to awaken in me now?
Knowing that awakening can happen many different ways,
Through the mind,
Through the heart,
Or through the body.
Knowing what quality you want to awaken in yourself.
Perhaps you want to awaken more love,
More patience,
Or more compassion.
Allow those words to come to you now.
And you may want to write down,
I'm awakening my.
.
.
Completing with the word that comes to you.
Allowing yourself to embrace the qualities of lightness,
Love,
And compassion.
Maybe you see light coming into your body,
Your heart like a big valentine's heart growing,
With the body feeling grounded and integrated.
Imagine taking your wish or your word and putting it in an envelope.
Putting that word in the envelope and sealing it with a kiss,
And seeing that word float up to the light above.
So it can be held by the light,
Manifested by the light.
This intention is powerful.
I invite you to share your intention with another,
Or to share it here in your response.
We'd love to hear and support you.
And be mindful of who and what shows up on your path,
And who might be here to support you with your intention.
May you have a blessed new year.
Namaste and thank you for being here.
