Welcome to Mindfulness with Izzy.
Today's meditation will focus on your relationship with money.
Bring yourself into this space,
Into your body and breath.
If it is comfortable,
Go ahead and close your eyes or keep them at a soft gaze,
Softening through the edges of your body to bring yourself fully into this moment with ease.
As we go through this meditation,
There will be moments of silence and pause to connect with yourself.
Only when you are present can you notice your thinking,
Your habits,
Your desires and needs.
As you sit here,
Just start to become aware of how you currently feel.
You may be peaceful,
Agitated,
Optimistic,
Overwhelmed or something else entirely.
Whatever you're feeling in this moment,
Can you see it and hold it here?
Know that how you currently feel can impact your decisions and can change just as the wind and weather.
Seeing what arises within you without pushing it away,
Breathing through any difficulties or challenges.
When you hear the word money,
What comes up for you?
What words or feeling arise?
Noticing is the first step in understanding your relationship with money.
Whether you consider it good or bad,
Money is in fact neutral.
On its own,
It holds no value.
You cannot take it when you are no longer living.
It's a conduit to align with your values,
How you want to live your life and what you want to leave behind for others when you are no longer here.
Do you approach money with a mindset of scarcity or abundance?
It is not just the words we speak to ourselves,
But an approach to life.
It is knowing that money comes and goes and to invest in what is most important to you.
Consider throughout your day,
Does this purchase support the life you want?
Is it a fleeting moment of happiness or will it be something you hold dearly?
Will it be something you remember a day from now,
A week from now,
A year from now?
What you want from life will be different from what others want in their life.
Your life is your own and not like any other.
You are unique in your experiences and what you desire out of your life.
Take time to check in with yourself before and after each purchase you make throughout the day.
Write down how you feel before and after,
Bringing awareness into the habits and decisions you make in your life.
Only when you notice your patterns can you move forward towards a life that feels like yours.
