Sitting comfortably on the Poochie bony bum,
Straight spine,
Chin slightly down,
Eyebrows raised,
Tongue rolled up.
Either cross-legged or in a chair or sitting
with your back to a wall.
We will now practice the third set.
This is a little
more complex and requires again the use of imagination to help us feel what's
really happening.
This is a more complex form of alternate nostril breathing.
We
start by using an index finger to close our left nostril,
Placing the first
finger in front of the location of Ajna chakra.
Here we separate breath from
energy.
So the breathing is into the back of the sinuses and throat and the lower
abdomen in the front.
The energy follows a distinct path which I'll now describe.
So as we breathe in to the sinuses we feel the energy come from the sinuses
down the right side of the spine to the base of the spine,
All on the in-breath.
On the out-breath we feel the energy come from the base of the spine up to the
level of the navel beside the spine and from there the energy will travel out to
the side of the torso and come up the side of the torso in a fan-like feeling
underneath the armpit.
You'll feel it as a distinct movement of energy and blood
and chi and lymphatic fluid under the armpit.
Repeat this breath four times and
then we'll do the other side and then we'll do both sides together.
So now
bring your index finger up to block the nose,
First finger on the third eye or
Ajna in front of.
Sitting up straight,
Tongue rolled up,
Breathing into the back
of the sinuses.
From the abdominal breath feel the chi come in the back of the
sinuses and down the right side of the spine,
All on the in-breath down to the
base.
Now on the out-breath feel the energy coming up the right side of the
spine to the level of the navel.
From there feel the energy fan out to the
side of the torso and up under the armpit to the end of the out-breath.
Now
repeat.
Breathing into the lower abdomen,
Air in through the sinuses,
Feel the chi
and energy down the right side of the spine to the base.
On the out-breath feel
the energy coming up the right side of the spine to the level of the navel.
From
there it fans out to the side of the torso and up under the armpits to the
end of the out-breath.
Again,
Breathing into the lower abdomen,
Feel the energy
in the sinuses and down the right side of the spine to the base.
Breathing out
from the base of the spine up the right side to the level of the navel.
Then out to the
side of the torso and up under the armpit.
One more.
Breathing into the lower
abdomen in the front,
Energy and chi and air in the sinuses,
Down the right side
of the spine to the base.
On the out-breath,
Up the right side from the base
of the spine to the level of the navel.
Then out to the torso and up under the
armpit in a distinct fan-like movement and feeling.
Now relax as you change
nostrils,
Blocking or closing the right nostril with the thumb and the first or
second finger on the third eye.
The left nostril is now open,
We're breathing on
the left side.
Abdominal breath,
Breathing in,
Feel the chi in the sinuses on the
left side,
Coming down the left spine to the base.
On the out-breath,
From the base
of the left spine up to the level of the navel and then fanning up out through
the side of the torso to the armpit.
Again,
Breathing into the lower abdomen
as the chi comes in the sinuses,
Down the left side of the spine all the way to
the base.
On the out-breath,
From the base up the left side of the spine to
the level of the navel,
Then fanning out up through and under the armpit.
Again,
Breathing into the lower abdomen,
Into the sinuses,
Down the left side of the
spine,
All the way to the base.
On the out-breath,
From the base up the left
side of the spine to the level of the navel and then out through the torso and
up under the armpit.
One more,
Breathing into the lower abdomen,
Chi in the sinus
and down the left side of the spine to the level of the base.
On the out-breath,
Bringing the energy up the left side of the spine to the level of the navel and
then out the side of the torso to the armpit.
Relax,
Lower your hand,
Sitting
comfortably.
Now we'll breathe both sides together.
Again,
A lower abdominal
breath,
Breathing into the abdomen,
Feel the energy coming in through both
nostrils,
Into the sinuses,
Down the right side of the spine and the left
side of the spine,
All the way to the base.
On the out-breath,
Release the
energy,
Allow the energy to come up both sides of the spine to the level of the
navel and then up the side of the torso and under the armpits.
Again,
Breathing
into the lower abdomen,
Feel the energy through both sinuses,
Down the right side
and the left side of the spine,
All the way to the base.
On the out-breath,
Both
sides of the spine,
Energy coming up to the level of the navel and out to the
side of the torso and the armpits.
And again,
Breathing into the lower abdomen,
Qi through both sinuses,
Down the spine on both sides to the base.
On the out-breath,
Feel the energy come up both sides of the spine to the level of the navel,
From
there fanning out to the side of the torso,
Up under both armpits.
One more,
Breathing in through the sinuses,
Feel the energy coming down both sides of the
spine to the base.
On the out-breath,
Release energy from both sides of the
spine at the base,
Come up to the level of the navel,
Then out to the sides of
the torso and up under both armpits.
Relax now,
In normal conscious breathing.
Sit comfortably,
Chin slightly down,
Tongue rolled up,
Eyebrows slightly up.
Breathing gently at the back of the sinuses and throat into the lower
abdomen.
Feel the energy,
The movements of the exercise you've just done.
Observe
what's happening in your body.
Touch your feet,
The feet of God.
And there it is,
And so it is.
Thank you.
Namaste.
