This short practice introduces the essence of the Vini Yoga approach,
Moving with the breath.
Through mindful breath-led movement,
We bring focus,
Stability and ease into both body and mind.
So take a moment now and find a comfortable seated position,
Either on the floor or in a chair.
Lengthen your spine and relax your shoulders.
If it feels right,
Close your eyes or you can choose to keep the gaze soft instead.
Now,
Take a moment to observe your natural breath.
Feel its rhythm without changing anything.
Simply notice the inhale and the exhale.
Now,
Gently deepen your breath.
Inhale smoothly through your nose,
Feeling your chest and ribs expand.
Exhale fully,
Allowing the body to soften.
Let your breath set the pace for this practice.
Let's begin with a simple movement.
As you inhale,
Lengthen your spine and lift your chest slightly.
As you exhale,
Gently round your back,
Drawing your belly inward.
Continue this wave-like movement.
Inhale expanding,
Exhale softening.
Let your breath lead with movement following naturally.
Now,
Return to a neutral position and notice how your body feels.
Observe the subtle shifts in your breath and your mind.
And let's complete the practice with three slow,
Steady breaths.
Inhaling deeply,
Exhaling completely.
When you feel ready,
Gently open your eyes and take this feeling of calm and ease into the rest of your day with you.
