This Somatic Experiencing–inspired meditation gently supports nervous system regulation through orienting to cues of safety in your environment. The orienting response is a natural, protective mechanism that helps us scan for danger. In this practice, we begin to guide that response toward noticing what feels safe, neutral, or supportive in the present moment. You’ll be invited to engage your senses—particularly your vision—to slowly explore your surroundings, while staying connected to your body’s responses. The emphasis is on choice, pacing, and curiosity, allowing your system to settle in a way that feels manageable and resourced. This practice may be especially supportive if you experience stress, anxiety, or dysregulation, and are looking for a gentle, body-based approach to grounding.
