Welcome to Rooted Growth,
A place where you're invited to slow down,
Soften,
And reconnect.
My name is Lisa,
And I'm so glad you're here.
In this practice,
You'll find space for both stillness and inspiration,
Without pressure and without needing to be anywhere else.
So settle into a comfortable position wherever you are.
Let your shoulders drop down a little.
Soften your jaw.
The world has enough tension already.
Take a slow breath in and let it go.
Another breath,
Not to become a better meditator,
Not to transcend humanity by tomorrow afternoon,
Just to arrive here right now.
You know,
I've noticed there's a strange pressure happening in the world to stay emotionally plugged in to every crisis at all times.
It's almost as though people believe that being exhausted equals being compassionate,
As though carrying the weight of the world in our nervous systems is somehow proving that we care,
That we're paying attention.
But being perpetually overwhelmed,
Which is honestly how I feel a lot of times,
Doesn't heal anything.
It just creates more overwhelmed people.
And this is where meditation gets misunderstood.
Sometimes people think when we sit quietly,
We're checking out,
We're avoiding reality,
We're just sticking our heads in the sand.
Have you heard that?
We're lighting a candle while watching the world burn.
But honestly,
The world doesn't need more frantic energy thrown at it.
It needs more grounded people like you and I,
More regulated humans,
More people who can pause before reacting,
That five-second pause,
More people who don't immediately turn fear into compassion.
Into more fear and finger pointing.
Meditation is not passive.
It's interruption.
It's an interruption of the collective panic spiral.
Because every time we sit down and become even slightly less reactive,
Slightly less consumed by fear,
Slightly more connected to compassion,
We stop spreading the emotional contagion that's already got enough marketing behind it.
And so no,
Meditation alone will not solve every problem in today's world.
You can still protest,
Volunteer,
Vote,
Donate,
Help people directly in your community.
But how we show up while doing these things really matters.
A peaceful person can walk into a room and lower the temperature without saying a word.
You've felt that before.
And the opposite is true too.
One dysregulated person can turn a grocery store line into a documentary about the collapse of civilization.
Energy travels.
So maybe this practice is less about escaping the world and more about becoming someone who contributes less fear to it.
And that matters more than we think.
Your meditation practice may not make headlines,
But neither does oxygen.
And we seem pretty committed to keeping that around.
So today,
Let yourself stop carrying whatever was never yours to hold alone.
Breathe,
Soften,
And become part of the peace you wish existed more fully around you.
I believe it's maybe the only thing we can really do to change the world.
So let's prepare for our meditation.
If you need to move around a little bit to be more comfortable in your seat,
Please do.
And then rest your hands gently in your lap and softly close your eyes.
Go within to that place of inner quiet where we experience that connection to our higher self.
Begin to observe the inflow and the outflow of your breath.
And with each inflow and outflow,
Allow yourself to become more relaxed,
More comfortable,
More peaceful.
Take your seat of quiet dignity.
And let's consider our centering thought for this meditation.
The peace I create within myself ripples outward.
The peace I create within myself ripples outward.
Hold that softly in your heart.
And now I'd like to introduce today's mantra.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.
Peace within,
Peace around,
Peace for all beings.
Inhale,
Om Shanti.
Exhale,
Shanti Shanti.
Om Shanti Shanti.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.
Please continue with your meditation.
I'll mind the time,
Starting and ending with a soft bell.
It's time to gently release the mantra.
Sit restfully for a few more moments.
And when you feel ready,
Allow your eyes to open slowly and softly,
Bringing the light of this practice back into your day.
As you move through the rest of this day,
Carry our centering thought with you.
The peace I create within myself ripples outward.
Peace is not weakness.
Peace is an amazing contribution.
And you make a difference every day in your meditation.
Thank you so much for your practice today.
May the calm you've cultivated here continue to support you and steady you through whatever comes next.
