Welcome,
This is your space for sleep,
There is nothing you need to do,
Nothing to consider,
Nothing to improve,
The night is ready for you right now,
If it feels ok,
Let your eyes close or soften your gaze,
Let your body rest in whatever position you have chosen,
Tonight we are not trying to relax the body,
We're simply allowing rest to arrive in its own time,
You might notice that different parts of you are still with you,
Still awake,
Parts that think,
Parts that plan,
Parts that stay close,
That stay alert,
Just in case,
Nothing is wrong,
These parts have worked very hard for you,
You don't need them to leave,
Let's see if they are willing to soften for now,
Knowing that the night can hold things until morning,
Somewhere underneath,
There is a quieter presence,
A steadiness that doesn't yearn for sleep,
But allows the body to sleep,
You might experience this as warmth,
Or spaciousness,
Or simply less effort,
If you like,
Imagine this presence as something gentle and protective,
Like being watched over without being watched closely,
Let the bed receive your body,
You don't have to sink,
You don't have to relax,
Just notice that you're already being held,
Breathing is happening on its own,
All breathing is welcome here,
Your heart knows what to do,
Your body knows what to do,
Even the parts of you that stay alert know how to rest in shifts,
In moments,
They know they can settle,
They can soften,
If sleep comes now,
You don't need to listen to my voice anymore,
And if you drift in and out,
That's also part of resting,
Nothing here requires your attention,
Nothing is needed,
Nothing is wrong,
In a moment my voice will slowly fade into the background,
The sounds will continue,
Steady and predictable,
Like a comforting night landscape,
Your system can keep resting,
Without guidance,
Parts that wake later will hear the same gentle sounds,
And know that it's still safe to rest,
Let the night do the work now,
You are allowed to disappear for a while,
Morning will come on its own.
