Good morning,
Friend.
And welcome to this autumnal morning.
Before the day gathers momentum just give yourself these few minutes.
.
.
Simply to be here.
Somewhere outside your window.
This season is already making itself known to you.
The light has changed,
The mornings may have a little more coolness in them now.
The leaves are beginning their slow transformation.
Moving through green,
Into gold,
Amber,
Copper and beautiful red.
There is such a beauty to autumn.
And much of that beauty.
Comes from change.
So wherever you are this morning.
Just begin by getting nice and comfortable.
Allowing your hands just to rest easily.
Letting your shoulders soften.
And take a slow breath in through the nose.
Then let it leave gently.
Another breath.
Nothing forced,
Just arriving.
Feel the weight of your body supported beneath you,
Notice the air on your skin.
And listen for whatever sounds are already here.
And for these next few minutes.
Imagine that you are allowing yourself to move at the pace of this season,
There is nowhere you need to hurry to get to at the moment,
You have time to notice time to breathe.
You have time to be here.
Now imagine yourself outside,
On an autumn morning.
Perhaps you were walking along a woodland path the sun is low enough to shine between the branches.
Casting long shafts of golden light across the ground.
Under your feet,
Fallen leaves soften your every step.
Some are still bright and newly fallen,
Others are beginning to return themselves to the Earth.
The air around you has that unmistakable autumn freshness.
Cool enough to wake the senses.
You can even smell the damp earth.
The leaves.
The wood of the trees.
And as you walk,
Notice that the woodland is changing everywhere around you.
Nothing is trying to hold on to a summer.
The trees do not seem to be embarrassed by their changing colours.
They do not hide the leaves that are beginning to curl at the edges.
Autumn simply arrives as it always does and nature responds.
Haker gentle breath.
And allow yourself to really appreciate this season.
Exactly.
As it is.
There is beauty in the fullness of summer,
Of course there is,
But the autumn has a unique beauty,
All of its own,
A mature beauty,
Beauty that is shaped by change and transformation.
Look up into the branches.
In your imagination and notice all the colors.
Gold.
Deep Red.
Some yellows rust,
Brown.
Perhaps a few green leaves are still remaining among them.
Every tree is changing in its own time.
Every leaf.
Is following its own rhythm.
Stay here for a few breaths and let yourself simply enjoy it,
And now notice.
One single leaf.
Perhaps it is hanging lightly right at the end of a branch.
It has been there through spring,
Through the long hot summer days.
It has been there through wind,
Rain and sunlight.
And now it's time on the branches almost completed There is no struggle in this moment.
Eventually,
That leaf releases.
It turns slowly through the cool air and settles onto the earth below it,
There can be such a beauty in letting go.
Autumn shows us this every year.
The trees become beautiful precisely as they begin to release what they can no longer keep.
And perhaps,
There may be something in your own life that has maybe reached that point.
You do not need to search for anything profound,
Just notice what comes naturally to mind perhaps an old expectation.
A disappointment that you have carried for far longer than you realised.
Maybe a plan that no longer feels right for you.
Or a habit,
Perhaps a version of yourself that belongs to an earlier season of your life.
Take a breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Imagine loosening your grip just a little.
There is no need to forcefully push anything away.
Letting go can be gradual.
Leaves do not all fall from a tree on the same morning.
Some are ready sooner,
Some will remain a while longer.
You are allowed to do the same.
Notice what feels ready.
And allow what is not quite ready yet to remain.
Another slow breath in.
And a long comfortable breath out.
Perhaps imagine another leaf drifting gently from a branch.
Then another.
Each one creating a little more openness among the branches.
A little more space or light to pass through.
Autumn reminds us that change does not mean life has gone wrong.
Change belongs to life.
We can see it in every woodland,
Every hedgerow,
Every garden.
The natural world does not remain frozen as its most abundant moment,
It moves,
It changes,
It releases.
Beneath all of that visible change,
Life continues.
A tree may look bare in winter,
But it has not forgotten spring.
Its life has simply moved inwards.
Its energy returning to the root.
And what is no longer needed falls away.
But what matters is protected.
Perhaps this autumn can offer you the same invitation.
To notice what deserves your energy now.
To come back toward what sustains you to make a little room inside your life.
Imagine standing beneath one of these autumn trees.
Above you,
The remaining leaves catch the morning sunlight.
Around you.
Others lie scattered across the earth.
And you recognise that both belong.
Holding on has its season.
So it does releasing.
Take another steady breath.
Feel your chest rise And feel it soften.
And notice how little effort is required to breathe out.
Your body already understands release.
Every single breath teaches it receiving… releasing,
Receiving again.
Rest here for a few moments with that natural rhythm.
And although the days are becoming shorter now,
Autumn does not ask us to forget the warmth that came before it.
Imagine for a moment that everything you received during the brighter months still has a place within you.
Every morning of sunlight,
Every warm evening.
Every tree full in leaf,
Every moment outdoors when the sky seemed to stretch endlessly above you,
You still carry some of that warmth with you.
Maybe that is another lesson of autumn.
We can let a season pass without losing everything it has given to us.
Can release an experience and you can keep its wisdom.
You can let a chapter close and still carry what it taught you.
You can say goodbye and still hold deep love for her.
Imagine a gentle warmth in the centre of your chest,
A small inner glow.
Nothing too dazzling,
Just enough warmth for the season ahead.
Breathe into it and let it remind you that,
As the world outside begins to turn inward,
You have your own inner resources to return to.
You have your own warmth,
Steadiness.
And your own place of shelter.
Now begin to sense the morning around you again.
The actual room you are sitting or lying in.
Notice any sounds nearby and the temperature of the air.
Feeling your hands and feet.
The support of your body,
And just before we finish consider.
.
.
How you would like to move through this autumn day.
Perhaps you can carry a little less.
Perhaps you can notice the beauty around you more often.
A changing tree beside a roadside,
Leaves gathering along the pavement.
Changing quality of the morning light or coolness of the air.
There is so much happening around us when we remember to look.
Autumn does not last long.
Soon,
The colors will change again.
So,
Allow yourself to be here,
Experiencing it,
To notice this season while you are still living inside it.
And perhaps today,
You can remember the trees,
How gracefully they change,
How beautifully they release.
How naturally they make space for what is to come next.
Take one deeper breath in… and let go.
And if your eyes have been closed,
Allow them to open when you are ready.
Take in this morning around you.
The day ahead does not need to be rushed into.
You can enter it gently.
Carrying the warmth you have gathered.
Notice what this season is showing you.
And when the time comes to release something that has completed its season in your life,
Perhaps remember those autumn trees.
Beautiful because they are changing,
Beautiful because they are letting go.
Have a peaceful autumn morning.
And happy.
Beautiful rest of your day.
Go in peace.
Namaste.
