Before we begin,
You may wish to set an alarm as the ending of this meditation is very,
Very quiet.
Also,
Please only listen if you're in a situation where it's safe for you to deeply relax and maybe fall asleep.
My name is Julia Mitchell from Peaceful Strings and I hope you find this meditation helpful.
You have a headache.
It's got worse and worse and now you need to stop.
Sit or lie quietly and let your aching head rest.
Put something over your eyes so it's completely dark for them.
Take some deep breaths.
Try to move your concentration away from the pain in your head to the sensation of air entering and leaving your body as you breathe.
Rest is the best,
Most productive thing that you can do.
It's the most helpful thing you can do for yourself and for those around you.
So let your body go heavy.
Relax your jaw and as far as you can,
Consciously relax the muscles around your eyes,
Your neck and your shoulders.
Now imagine that you're sitting on a green mossy bank.
The moss is so soft under your hands.
The air is very soft and clean.
The smells of the earth.
Not too cold.
Sitting there quite still,
You listen to the sound of the birds overhead.
You feel your feet making solid contact.
You walk a few paces onto a path.
The elegant willows.
This wood is very old.
Starting to ease your head as you walk.
The roots below are a cradle to the earth.
After some time,
You come to a clearing in the wood.
In the centre of the clearing is a pool.
Sunlight is reaching in gentle rays through the trees and the water seems to shine like silver.
How beautiful the water is.
You can easily see the stones on the bottom.
Put your hands into the water.
Cupping your hands together to take water up to your forehead.
But not far under the surface of the water.
Just near the edge.
You sit with your back to the pool.
But the rest of your head is in it.
As the silvery water touches your scalp.
Your head experiences the most beautiful feeling.
Coolness spreads with a soft movement.
As your hair floats in the water.
