Welcome to this meditation.
A place of stillness,
Comfort and complete safety.
Together we'll gently settle into the feeling of being held,
Like resting in a soft warm cocoon.
A space where nothing can touch you and you can rest deeply.
So find a position that feels restful and supported.
You might lie down or curl up somewhere warm and quiet.
Let your eyes close,
Let your body soften and let your breath begin to slow.
Inhale gently and exhale slowly,
Letting yourself arrive.
Now begin to imagine a cocoon forming gently around you.
It's soft and warm like layers of thick blankets.
You don't have to do anything,
Just let yourself be wrapped and held.
Layer by layer this cocoon surrounds you.
It's perfectly shaped to your body.
Soft against your skin and warm without being heavy.
Inside the cocoon everything feels still.
It's quiet,
It's safe,
It's yours.
You feel the softest textures around you,
Like warm fleece,
Gentle silk or your favorite blanket.
The air inside is just the right temperature.
Cozy,
Calm and soothing.
Maybe there's a faint comforting scent,
Perhaps lavender or something familiar that makes you feel at home.
Outside the world continues but in here nothing can reach you.
No noise,
No pressure,
No to-do lists.
In this cocoon you are protected from every worry and every demand.
Take a slow breath in and as you breathe out imagine all your tension melting away,
Draining down into the blankets,
Completely dissolving.
Breathe in calm,
Breathe out anything you don't need.
You are completely safe.
You are completely held.
Allow yourself to rest.
You are completely protected.
You don't have to carry anything right now.
Allow yourself to recharge.
You are safe.
Imagine your body restoring itself from the inside.
Each cell gently recharging.
Your mind unwinding.
Your heart resting.
You don't need to be anywhere else.
You don't need to be anyone else.
You are exactly where you need to be.
And let yourself drift,
Rocked by this cocoon of warmth and peace.
You might even imagine a soft glow around you.
A quiet light that holds and nourishes you.
And when you're ready to return to this place know that you can always come back here.
This cocoon is always available within your breath,
Your body,
Your imagination.
Slowly begin to deepen the breath.
Wiggle your fingers.
Wiggle your toes.
Maybe gently stretch if you feel like it.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Bringing some of that comfort,
Stillness and safety back with you.
You are safe.
You are enough.
You are held.
