Hi,
My name is Richard Moore and thank you for being with me here today in this meditation.
This is a super simple,
Easy meditation to do.
If you're ever feeling overwhelmed,
Stressed,
This is perfect.
But you can use it for all sorts of different things,
To create some space,
To create some relaxation.
So this is actually an open-eyed meditation,
So your eyes are open and I want you just to focus straight ahead of you and then just start to soften your gaze.
You can be doing anything,
Standing,
Sitting,
It doesn't matter.
This is something you can do anywhere.
Soften your gaze and then just start to notice your peripheral vision,
So your vision to your right and your left,
On the outskirts of your vision.
You might even lift up your hands and then just put them to the sides,
Out wide,
And you can just see your fingers wiggling.
And just start to just expand your awareness outward to the sides as far as you can,
Even further.
And now I want you just to imagine you can even put your hands above your head and below,
Top and below,
Quite far out and you can just see the periphery there.
Imagine you're expanding your awareness below and above your head too,
So out to the sides and then also up high and down low.
And then as you're doing that,
Start to expand your awareness behind you.
It's kind of a funny one.
Imagine you're expanding your awareness behind you now and in front of you.
So expanding your awareness outward to the sides,
Expanding your awareness up high above and down below,
And expanding your awareness behind and in front.
And really start to expand it further and further and further,
As wide and wide as you can,
Beyond where you can see.
Up high,
Way,
Way above,
As far as you can go,
All the way up and then all the way down at the same time,
Below the earth,
Further and further.
And then in front of you,
Further than you can see and behind you,
Further,
Further,
Further.
Keep expanding it and then even just notice how you feel now.
And this is a perfect exercise to literally expand your awareness,
To expand things.
So if you're having anything that's giving you trouble,
You're stressed,
A problem,
You can just keep your eyes open and do this exercise.
Come back to this,
Listen to this meditation again,
A very short meditation,
And just notice how you feel more calm,
More relaxed.
