This is for the moments when everything feels like too much.
You are here because you know that something in you needs to slow things down,
Even just a little.
You might begin by placing a hand somewhere that feels supportive on your body,
Perhaps over your heart or on your belly,
Or not at all.
Simply arrive into this moment as you are.
Let the breath flow in now without adding any extra force,
And then let it go,
Let the breath continue to flow on its own.
We're not trying to calm everything down,
We're simply making a bit more space for you to be.
If you notice that your thoughts feel loud,
You don't need to quiet them completely.
You might just imagine the volume turning down slightly,
Not total silence,
Just a bit softer,
Or perhaps you might feel your mind is racing.
You don't need to stop it,
Instead you might imagine just easing your foot off the pedal,
Not total stillness,
Just a slower pace.
Noticing the breath again,
Inhale and exhale.
Continue to let the breath move on its own in the background as a support to you.
You can stay here as long as you need,
Inhale and exhale at your own pace.
Let this practice be enough.
Not perfect,
Not complete,
But just a little more quiet,
A little more slow.
When you're ready,
You might release your hands,
Or shift your position,
Returning into your body,
Allowing the breath to keep flowing to its own rhythm.
Remember,
You are always allowed to slow things down,
This space is here for you whenever you need it.
