Hi,
It's Brit,
The Valley Bee.
Welcome to Northwest Nights.
Before we begin,
Can we take a moment just to arrive here?
Notice where your body is resting feel the surface beneath you holding your weight without asking anything from you.
Allow your shoulders to soften Unclench your jaw.
Let your hands,
Your feet,
Your arms,
Your legs become heavy.
Take a slow breath in through the nose.
And a long,
Easy breath out again,
Breathing in deeply and letting it go.
One more time as you breathe in fill the belly expand the ribs lift the heart and allow yourself to release it slowly.
Allow yourself to become a little heavier now.
There is nowhere else that you need to be tonight.
Nothing you need to figure out Nothing you need to carry for anyone else.
Just this breath just this body.
Just this moment.
If something from your day is still sitting with you.
You don't have to push it away.
Or could you instead simply notice it?
And imagine setting it down beside you,
Just for now.
It will still be there tomorrow.
If you need it.
But tonight you are allowed to rest.
Take one more slow,
Deep breath in.
And so,
So slowly,
Let it out.
Imagine yourself beside the water.
Its evening.
And the sun has disappeared beneath the horizon.
Leaving just a little softness.
In the sky.
The water in front of you is almost completely still.
And above it,
The moon has begun to rise.
Its light stretches across the surface of the water.
Creating a long silver pathway that moves gently with every little ripple.
You stand quietly at the edge.
There is no need to go anywhere.
No need to do anything.
Just watching.
Just listening.
Just breathing Take a slow breath in.
As you look across the water.
And as you breathe out Imagine the surface becoming a little calmer.
The water doesn't need to be perfectly still.
It simply wounds.
A ripple comes and then it passes.
Another follows.
And then it passes to the next one.
You can let your thoughts be like that to me.
They don't need to stop.
They don't need to be solved.
They can arrive.
And they can move on.
Take another deep breath in.
And let something go with this exhale.
Perhaps a thought.
Perhaps a worry point.
Perhaps simply the effort of holding yourself together through your day.
Let it move away from you like a ripple disappearing across the water.
The moon continues to shine.
The water continues to move.
And you continue to breathe.
Slowly naturally.
Without effort.
Find a place to sit beside the water.
Perhaps there is a smooth rock beneath you.
Perhaps soft earth.
Perhaps a little piece of driftwood warmed by the day.
Whatever is beneath you.
Let it hold you.
Feel your body becoming heavier.
Your legs resting.
Your hips,
Soften and relax.
Your belly no longer needing to hold itself in.
And your chest rising and falling on its own.
There is nothing to perform here.
Nothing to prove.
The water does not ask the moon to shine brighter.
And the moon does not ask the water to become still.
Everything is allowed to be exactly as it is.
And perhaps you can offer yourself that same kindness.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in.
And slowly let it go.
Let yourself be exactly as you are tonight.
Maybe tired leave you full.
May be peaceful.
Whatever is here can be here.
You don't have to change it before you rest.
The moonlight stretches farther across the water.
Silver moving over silver.
And with every gentle movement of the water.
Imagine something inside of you lucidly.
The day becoming less important.
The unfinished tasks becoming quieter.
The conversations,
The list.
You don't need to follow them.
Let them drip.
The way clouds drift across the night sky.
The way leaves drift along the surface of the water.
The way the breath comes and goes.
Taking a slow,
Deep breath in And on your exhale,
Release a little bit more.
Maybe not all of it.
With just what you're ready to put down to me.
There is plenty of time.
The water is not rushing.
The night is not rushing.
You don't need to rush either.
Stay here for a quiet moment.
Listening to the movement over the water.
Feeling the air against your skin and watching the moonlight shimmer.
Breathing.
And trusting.
Perhaps the moonlight begins to blur slightly.
Your eyes growing heavier.
The body sinking more deeply into whatever is supporting you.
And your breath becomes softer.
If another thought arrives,
You can simply notice it.
There it is.
And let it pass.
Like a ripple of the water.
Coming.
Moving.
Garden.
Take one final slow breath in Allow the breath to slowly release.
Allow the whole body to soften nothing to carry.
Nothing to solve.
Nothing to become.
As the water continues to move beneath the moonlight.
Allow yourself to drift too.
A little deeper.
A little softer.
A little further away.
From the day.
The moon will remain above the water.
The night will continue around you.
And you can let yourself disappear gently into sleep.
Breathe in resting letting go drifting into whatever comes next.
I'm Britt.
The valley beach.
Thank you for choosing.
This rest with me.
Sleep well.
