It's not about success or failure; it's about the growth and meaning we find in every step. Ever feel like life's a rollercoaster, with your happiness teetering on your successes? What if there's a different way? What if we focus not on the destination but on the journey itself? In this short audio talk, we look at how the real treasure in working toward our goals isn't greatness; it's aliveness. It's embracing every moment, navigating the unexpected, and finding joy in simply being. Ready to try on this new perspective?

Don't seek greatness,

Seek to become radiantly alive.

Welcome back friends to another edition of the You Are a Conscious Creator podcast.

My name is Anthony V.

Lombardo and I hope this audio track can offer you some wisdom and inspiration as you go along your path and maybe ultimately help you live a more conscious and meaningful existence.

The world is constantly urging us to define our lives by the outcomes we achieve.

You set a goal for yourself and you succeed,

Life is a blast.

If you struggle or fall flat on your face,

Life is terrible.

This model of reality causes us to live on a seesaw of happiness and despair,

Where we spend way too much time on the despair end of the spectrum.

You've probably heard it countless times,

But what if we were able to shift our focus from the outcome and instead put every ounce of our energy in the journey itself?

Could you imagine a pinnacle level of existence,

Where we are completely detached from outcomes in life?

What if we channeled all our energy into the process and the growth and the insight that came from it,

Regardless of whether we succeed or face setbacks?

The question then becomes,

Does it truly matter if I succeed or fail,

If the experience was meaningful and helped me understand myself and the world more deeply and truly?

The resounding answer is yes,

I can fail and still find truth,

And usually when that happens,

It's often of the deepest variety.

Goals are undoubtedly essential,

But only because they set the direction of our lives and give us purpose and meaning.

Without them,

We'd be left in the hands of our idle mind,

And we might literally go mad.

Viktor Frankl,

In his book A Man's Search for Meaning,

Wrote,

The quest for meaning is the key to mental health and human flourishing.

So in many ways,

Goals do preserve our sanity and keep us from drifting aimlessly.

But once we set our goals and chart our course,

It's time to let go of the obsession with the outcomes and instead immerse ourselves into the experience.

That includes embracing the how,

The what,

And the why.

The how being the steps and actions that propel us towards our aspirations.

The what being the thoughts and feelings that arise from taking those steps.

And the why,

The driving force that awakens our passion every morning.

So the real reward isn't really achieving those goals,

It's the growth and meaning we experience by striving,

Learning,

And evolving.

Whether we win,

Lose,

Or draw.

Yes,

We should all reach for greatness.

But that mere notion is an illusion,

Because outcomes and results are never fully in our control.

Life can abruptly make other plans for us,

And the goal we put so much energy into can dissipate into thin air.

Or even when we attain what we want,

That too reveals itself to be an illusion.

Because once we get what we want,

We quickly move on to our next grand pursuit.

So yes,

Instead of greatness,

We should focus our sights on aliveness.

Instead of outcomes,

We should invest fully into the journey.

Because this life journey,

With all its highs and lows,

Its unexpected turns,

And how we experience all of it,

Is all we truly ever have.

The purpose of a life journey,

Or any journey for that matter,

Is to simply be on that journey.

We often forget,

But moment-to-moment living is all there is.

And we must realize that being on our own unique journey,

Embracing every moment and experience it offers,

Is the ultimate reward.

So ask yourself today,

What makes you truly come alive?

What makes you keenly aware of the life coursing through you and around you?

How does it feel to be alive?

A living,

Breathing human being who gets to experience the world in all its splendor.

Now,

Imagine if as a species and society,

We tailored our goals around these questions.

Imagine what would start to show up in our reality.

The very notions of a quote-unquote good life and a quote-unquote successful life would take on a whole new understanding.

A whole new consciousness would be born.

Thanks for listening.

I hope you have a wonderful,

Beautiful,

And highly conscious day.

Keep creating your reality.

Much love.
