Welcome.
This meditation is an invitation to connect with the strength,
Wisdom and unconditional love of your ancestors.
You are not alone,
You never have been.
And in this practice you are gently reminded of that deep truth.
Take a deep breath in and slowly release it.
Let your body begin to settle.
Feel the ground beneath you,
The air around you and the breath moving through you.
Nothing else to do,
Nowhere else to be.
Allow yourself to arrive fully in this moment.
With every breath,
Soften your jaw,
Your shoulders,
Your belly.
You are safe,
You are supported.
Gently bring awareness to the top of your head.
Slowly scan down through your body.
Notice your face,
Your neck,
Your shoulders.
Let everything soften.
Feel the weight of your arms,
Your hands,
Your fingers.
Bring awareness to your chest,
Your ribs,
Your belly.
Let your breath be easy.
Relax your hips,
Your legs,
Your feet.
Imagine you are lying on the grass,
Fully held.
Feel roots gently growing from your spine into the ground,
Anchoring you,
Grounding you.
These roots connect you to all who have walked before you,
Your ancestors.
Now,
In your mind's eye,
See yourself standing on a soft path,
At the edge of a forest.
You begin walking.
Slowly.
Gently.
Step by step.
The forest is calm.
Birds are singing above.
Leaves rustle as a breeze passes through them.
With each step,
You feel more connected,
More peaceful.
Up ahead,
You hear a soft rhythm.
Drumming.
Singing.
Carried on the wind.
You follow the sound.
And soon,
You arrive at a clearing.
In the centre of this clearing,
A sacred fire glows.
Surrounding the fire are people.
Your ancestors.
Some faces may feel familiar.
Others,
Unknown.
But each one welcomes you with love in their eyes.
You are invited to join the circle.
You sit near the fire.
Its warmth on your skin.
You hear the drumming.
Soft singing.
A gentle hum in the air.
This fire has burned for generations.
You belong to the circle.
As you sit by the fire,
Your ancestors come forward.
One by one.
They place their hands on your back.
Your shoulders.
Your heart.
You feel a soft warmth.
A presence beyond words.
You hear a whisper deep inside.
You are not alone.
We walk beside you.
You are the answer to our prayers.
You carry our strength.
You don't have to know their names.
You don't even have to know their stories.
Just feel their love.
Their presence.
Surrounding you.
Breathe it in.
Let it settle deep into your bones.
You are held.
Supported.
Slowly,
The circle begins to fade.
The fire still glows behind your eyes.
But your awareness returns to your breath.
Back to your body.
Back to the ground beneath you.
Take a gentle breath in and release it softly.
Begin to notice your fingers,
Your toes.
Maybe wiggle them gently.
Bring your awareness back to the room.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
You return,
But you are not alone.
You are supported.
Rooted.
Loved.
Carry this remembrance with you.
And so it is.
