The faster we run, the more we lose our inner awareness and our ability to master time. This meditation offers a brief reprieve from our habit of running. Take a moment to be still outside of time, reclaim your inner awareness, and re-enter present time. (This is a piece from a forthcoming book, Living as Art: 16 Celestial Degrees, by Deborah Castle and Judy Johnson. Available on Amazon in 2018.)

Running.

The habit of running rules.

The bodies and minds run towards desires or away from fears and worries.

The mind runs to get something,

To fill the emptiness inside.

The mind runs to stay warm when hearts are frozen to the pain around them and in them.

The mind runs away from fear.

There is fear everywhere.

There is so much running.

As the mind runs,

The body follows.

Time speeds up as a result.

Time is relative to movement.

Time is movement,

A creation of the human mind to account for the space between actions.

More actions,

There is less space.

The human mind is so entangled in actions that it has lost its ability to master time.

It's time to stop running.

It's time to stop time.

I choose to move my consciousness inside.

Drawing the energies of my mind into a concentrated point of awareness,

I reclaim this moment.

I stop time.

Time stops for me.

In this moment,

My energy is perfectly balanced,

Centered,

Still.

I fill this moment with the power of my concentrated awareness.

I hold stillness.

A reprieve is found in this still moment.

Energy is stored,

Concentrated.

I am stable.

I am powerful.

I am still.

I am full.

I am free.

I hold my awareness in stillness.

I hold time still.

Then slowly,

I release time to move once again at a pace in keeping with the stillness of my mind.

The world benefits.

Fantastic reminder that we have the power in ourselves to stop the constant running and ease our frantic lives- one moment at a time. Thank you! Saving this one for future use!
