Begin in a comfortable position,
Eyes open,
With your pet by your side or resting on your lap.
Gently stroke their fur,
Scratch their head,
Or simply rest your hand on your pet.
Use your senses to bring your full awareness to your pet.
Notice the color of their fur,
The subtle movements of their body,
And all the little details.
Allow your pet's presence to anchor you in the present moment.
Slowly begin to deepen your breath.
With each exhale,
Allow yourself to relax more and more deeply.
If you'd like,
You can gently close your eyes now and bring your awareness to the feeling beneath your hand.
Feel the texture of your pet's fur and the warmth of their body.
Notice the rhythm of their breathing and any gentle sounds they make.
Next,
Tune into your pet's energy.
If they seem calm,
Imagine breathing in that peaceful energy.
If they feel restless or tense,
You can visualize sending them calming energy through your hand or your heart,
Reminding them that they are safe and loved.
Now,
Take a moment to reflect on the unique and precious bond that you share with your pet,
Perhaps visualizing that special connection or simply picturing the love and joy that they bring to your life.
And finally,
I invite you to take a moment of gratitude for your pet,
This practice,
And the connection you share.
When you're ready,
Take a deep breath in and on the exhale,
Sit back,
Take a stretch,
And blink open your eyes.
