by Ailey Mae
In this sleep/dream story you are going to be staying on a little moored boat on a canal in Scotland at the beginning of spring. You enter the boat on a sunny morning and set about making the space your own. You sit on the tiny deck space and let go of your thoughts. You prepare delicious food and drinks for yourself. You lie down on the bed in its little nook and do a gorgeous mediation called “Body Love”. As the evening approaches and it begins to get a little bit chilly, you light the fire. You take a hot shower in the tiny wet room and at the end of the day - you crawl into the bed nook and fall asleep as the fire burns its last flames.

A relaxing weekend on a moored boat.
In this dream story you're going to be staying on a little moored boat on a canal in Scotland.
You enter the boat on a sunny morning.
You sit on the tiny deck and let go of your thoughts.
You prepare delicious food and drinks for yourself.
You lie down on the bed in its little nook and do a gorgeous meditation called body love.
As the evening approaches and begins to get a little bit chilly you light the fire.
You take a hot shower in the tiny wet room and at the end of the day you crawl into the bed nook and fall asleep to the sound of rain on the boat.
This is your story so feel free to really make it your own.
My words are a guide but make this experience yours and at any point if you feel sleep calling allow my voice to fade away and let yourself drift off.
Before we begin tonight's story let's get our bodies nice and relaxed.
Let's let our bodies know that it's time to switch off and rest.
Make sure you're lying comfortably.
Adjust your position if you need to.
Just get really comfy.
Wiggle your body a bit if you like and make sure you're in the most comfortable position you can be in.
Make any adjustments you need to make with your pillow or your covers and when you're comfy feel your body sink into your mattress.
You are safe.
There is nothing you need to do.
Enjoy the feeling of knowing that you're safe and you have nothing to do but enjoy this feeling of relaxation.
Tune into your body.
Is there an area of your body where you're holding on to any tension?
If so,
Can you let it go?
Can you allow yourself to just fully relax?
You are loved.
The earth is holding you.
Feel the security of the earth beneath you.
Feel the love from the earth.
You are safe and you are loved.
Place your attention on your breathing.
When thoughts pop into your mind just notice them and let them drift away.
Just welcome them and let them go.
Feel gratitude for your bed and for your covers and your pillow keeping you comfortable and warm.
Feel grateful for the fact that you're in your bed.
Imagine you're surrounded by a beautiful warm golden light.
You're safe.
You're loved.
You are peaceful.
Find yourself walking alongside a canal in Scotland.
It's early in the morning and it's quiet.
Nobody is around.
You can hear the birds singing but nothing much else.
You walk along until you come upon a row of boats tied up to the side.
You know that your boat is the one on the very end so you walk along and take in the joy of each little boat sitting there on the canal.
Quirky little homes,
Colourful and full of character.
These little boats look so well loved and full of joy.
You can just tell that the people who live here love living here.
You can sense that it's a peaceful life living here.
You walk past about four boats and then you see yours at the end.
It's smaller than the others but just as joyful.
You stand there for a minute just looking at your little boat that is going to be your home for the next few days.
You soak it in.
You have three nights here all to yourself.
You have no plans,
No lists,
Just three days and three nights to yourself to relax.
You step down onto the boat and it wobbles a little and you feel the calm excitement of doing something new.
You sit down on the little wooden bench just soaking it all in but you don't stay there for long.
You're too excited to see inside.
So you open up the wooden door and step down the wooden steps into the boat.
What an amazing space.
Right at the door you have a small sofa which is opposite a tiny log-burning stove which has a stack of wood beside it.
In the middle of the boat is a tiny kitchen space with just the essentials and right at the back there is a nook that you have to climb up into which has the bed in it.
It looks so inviting like a little cave of warmth and comfort.
And next to the bed is a tiny wet room which has a toilet and a shower.
It's barely big enough to stand in but you know you're going to enjoy a shower in here later.
You decide to make yourself a delicious hot drink.
Everything you need is right here.
You enjoy the process of preparing your drink.
You feel so grateful to have this place all to yourself for the next few days.
You take your time and slowly prepare your drink and then take it out onto the tiny deck.
You take a cushion with you and you get comfortable on the little bench.
The birds are singing.
A little family of ducks is hanging out beside you.
You watch them as you sip your drink.
Any thoughts that are in your head,
You imagine them going over the side of the boat and into the water where they gently float away until your head feels empty and light.
It's just you,
Your drink,
The birds singing and the ducks.
For now you have nothing to think about.
You just sit here completely immersed in this little scene.
You decide to head back into the boat.
You leave the door wide open to let the fresh air in.
And you put some music on and begin to move and stretch.
The boat gently sways as you do so and it feels so good.
You feel your body get more and more relaxed and free as you move to the music.
This boat is just so adorable.
In calm tones of cream and brown,
Everything feels so natural and earthy.
There are dappled patches of reflected light from the canal shining on the ceiling.
It feels so magical.
You woke up very early this morning so that you could get to your boat and have a full day here.
So you notice that you feel a little sleepy.
The bed nook looks so inviting.
There is a window in the nook and the sun is streaming in onto the pillows.
You close the door of the boat and crawl up into the bed nook and lie down with your face in the sun.
You pull a little blanket over you for comfort rather than warmth as the temperature here is just perfect.
You feel your whole body sink into the bed.
The pillows cradling your head are just perfect.
Your body feels light and relaxed.
You decide that it's the perfect time to do a short meditation called body love.
So you pop your earphones in and hit play.
You are going to send love to your whole body.
Let's start with your toes.
Place your attention on your toes.
Really feel love for your toes.
Give them a little wiggle and say to your toes,
I love you toes.
Thank you for being my toes.
Picture love as a pink sparkly mist and send that love right into your toes.
Now send that pink sparkly love into your feet.
Really feel the love for your feet.
I love you feet.
Thank you for being my feet.
Thank you for carrying me where I want to go.
Feel the love spreading up into your legs now.
Your strong beautiful legs.
Your legs are full of pink sparkly love.
Thank you legs.
I love you.
Now send that love into your whole pelvic area.
Your core and your chest.
Think of all the organs contained in this space and send this sparkly pink love to them all.
Thank you.
Thank you all for doing your best.
Feel the love swirling around your body and now into your arms.
Thank you arms for everything that you do.
And now send the love right into your hands and fingers.
Thank you hands.
Thank you fingers.
Now send that pink sparkly love into your head.
Feel it swirl all around your face and in your brain and out into your hair.
Thank you.
Feel the sparkly pink love in and around your whole body.
Feel gratitude for your body.
Relax here in your wonderful comfortable bed just for a wee while as this pink sparkly love permeates your whole body.
Now become aware of your heart.
Marvel for a moment at how your heart beats.
It does this all the time without having to be reminded.
Become aware of the space around your heart.
Imagine love radiating from your heart out into the world.
Now repeat each statement in your mind and really feel the statement in your body.
I am wrapped in the loving energy of the universe.
I am unique.
There is only one of me and I am worthy of love.
It is safe for me to be me.
I am held by the earth.
I am exactly where I need to be in this moment.
I deserve all the good things that come to me.
Whatever I need to know is revealed to me and whatever I need comes to me in divine and perfect timing.
I am made of love.
You're lying here in the little bed nook on your boat.
You feel a delicious cool breeze wash over your face from the open window and you stretch your body and decide to get up and make yourself a nourishing meal.
You hop down out of the nook into the main body of the boat.
You're going to make yourself a delicious and simple meal and everything you need is right there for you in the tiny kitchen.
All of the ingredients are fresh and beautiful and you relish the preparation of your meal.
You take your meal over to the little sofa.
You open the door of the boat wide and let the fresh air in.
It is still sunny and the sun is creating beautiful shadows on the walls.
You sit on the sofa and relish every bite of your meal.
You notice that although it's still sunny the air has gotten quite cool.
You draw the door closed and decide to light the tiny little stove.
It doesn't take much to get it started.
It's so tiny that it just uses kindling sized pieces of wood.
It very quickly throws out a lot of heat and it begins to heat up the room nicely.
You pull a soft blanket over you and lie back into the sofa and stare at the dancing flames of the tiny fire.
The sun disappears as the sky clouds over and you hear rain begin to fall on the roof of the boat.
How lovely to be all cozy on your boat as the rain patters down on the roof.
You feel so cozy and relaxed.
You notice a delicious big orange sitting on the counter.
You cut the orange into segments and the smell is divine.
You marvel at nature for producing such an amazing delicious fruit.
You take the orange over to the sofa and eat it by the fire.
You are so content.
The orange is the only thing you need right now.
When you're finished your orange you put as much wood on the fire as you can and head over to the tiny wet room to take a shower.
There are beautiful amber bottles with delicious smelling natural shampoo and conditioner.
You lay out your cotton pajamas and a big white fluffy towel and you start the shower.
The room is tiny and you fit in just perfectly.
The shower has a great pressure and the water is warm and soothing.
You stand under the shower and let the warm water nourish your being.
You use the gorgeous soaps and enjoy the feeling of nurturing yourself with these beautiful natural products.
You turn the shower off and step out of the wet room and grab the huge fluffy white towel.
The towel smells fresh and inviting.
It is soft but also rough enough to really dry your skin and invigorate your body.
Your body is tingling and alive.
You feel fresh and amazing as you put on your cotton jammies and fluffy slippers.
You head over to sit by the fire.
It is down to just a few bright little bits of wood but a handful of new sticks soon sets it right off again and before long you have a raging fire,
Hot and glowing bright.
The boat is so toasty warm.
You feel light and relaxed as you sit down on the sofa and you pick up a book all about the healing benefit of being on a boat.
You turn the book over and read the back.
There is something inherently soothing about being on water.
The serenity that comes with the sound of the water and the gentle rocking of the boat creates a naturally calming environment.
Being on the water amplifies relaxation and enhances our overall well-being.
All of the best ideas and inspirations happen when we are at rest and when you're on a boat you can more easily tap into your creative mind.
This is because of the relaxing scenery,
The gentle rocking and the sound of the water.
You put the book back down and decide it's time to retire to the bed nook.
It's just so inviting.
It's now dark and you go around the boat and close all of the blinds.
You brush your teeth slowly and enjoy your little ritual of self-care before bed.
You put a piece of wood on the fire so that you will see the patterns of the flames on the walls of the boat and climb up into the cozy bed nook.
You switch the fairy lights on that surround the bed and you arrange the pillows so that you're sitting up slightly so that you can just sit and take in the vibes of the boat.
It's still raining and if you close your eyes you can just tune in to a very gentle sway of the boat.
Your body feels relaxed and deliciously heavy with the promise of deep and restful sleep.
You look around and take in the cozy carefree vibes.
You would like to sit here like this for longer but you can feel the waves of sleep taking over so you settle down into a sleeping position and allow yourself to drift off into a deep restorative sleep.
