A Slow Day in a Cozy Cabin In this dream story,
You have a slow day in a beautiful little garden cabin.
There are houses nearby,
But your little garden is completely private and secluded.
You start your day waking up in your comfy bed,
The sun shining through the cracks in the curtains.
You spend the day relaxing in the cabin and on the porch,
Tending to your fire and just chilling out,
Before having a luxurious shower,
Gazing at the fire and then falling into a blissful sleep.
This is your story,
So feel free to really make it your own.
My words are a guide,
But make this experience yours,
And at any point,
If you feel sleep calling,
Allow my voice to fade away and let yourself drift off.
Before we begin the story,
Let's relax our bodies and give our bodies the message that it's time to let go of the day.
Start by taking in a nice deep breath in through your nose,
And letting out a big sigh as you exhale.
Feel your body begin to let go of the day,
You are safe now,
You have nothing to do.
You don't need anything from anybody,
And nobody needs anything from you.
You can fully let go and relax your whole body.
Notice your bed underneath you,
Your covers keeping you warm,
And your pillows allowing your head to rest.
How good it feels to be lying down,
In bed,
Ready for a night of deep,
Restful and restorative sleep.
Scan your body with your mind,
And notice anywhere that is holding any tension.
When you notice an area of tension,
Direct your breath to that area,
And let everything go as you sigh it out.
How do your feet feel?
Can you relax them just a little bit more?
Feel your feet relaxed and heavy.
How do your legs feel?
Feel your legs let go and relax.
How about your tummy,
Your chest and your back?
Feel your body sink deeper into the bed and let go.
Feel your arms heavy on the bed.
Feel your face,
Are you still making a facial expression?
Allow your face to fully relax.
Allow your head to sink into the pillow.
Your whole body can fully relax.
You are safe and you are held by the earth.
It is safe for you to relax your body fully.
The absolute best thing that you can do for yourself and for your loved ones is exactly what you are doing.
Winding down and relaxing your body and mind.
Letting your body be in a place where it can heal and restore and refresh.
Everything is exactly as it should be.
Now in your mind,
Imagine a little secluded garden cabin.
It has a front porch with a little sofa on one side and a small table with a couple of chairs on the other side.
It is a cute and quirky little cabin with fairy lights and hanging plants and loads of little cool and quirky ornaments and trinkets.
You have been in this cabin since last night and you are waking up in the comfy bed.
You open your eyes to see the sun streaming in through the cracks in the curtains.
You have had a delicious and refreshing night's sleep and you are ready for a day of relaxing and chilling out in the cabin.
You reach over and open the window beside you wide open.
You prop yourself up on some pillows and lie there listening to the birds and feeling the delicious fresh air against your face.
Ah,
To have a day with no plans.
A day all to yourself with nothing that you have to do.
You revel in this moment.
You get up and walk around the tiny cabin opening the curtains at each window to let the sun stream in.
You feel the warmth of the sun on your skin.
You stand in the tiny kitchen area and prepare your breakfast.
You take your time and enjoy the process of preparing a delicious nourishing breakfast.
You take your breakfast outside onto the porch where you sit down at the little table and close your eyes with your face towards the morning sun.
The birds are singing and every so often you hear a train going past in the distance but other than that it is completely quiet.
You enjoy the feeling of just sitting here knowing that there is nothing that you need to do today.
You eat your breakfast deliberately.
You enjoy and savour every mouthful.
You head back into the cabin to make yourself a nice hot drink.
Perhaps you'll have a lovely cup of coffee or a hot chocolate.
Whatever is your favourite morning drink,
You start to prepare it in your sunny cabin.
You only have yourself to please so you make it exactly as you like it and you are in no hurry whatsoever.
You take your drink out to the porch and this time you choose to sit on the sofa side.
You curl up and pull the woolen blanket over your legs.
You are the perfect temperature.
Again you hear the birds singing,
The occasional train passing and nothing else.
You feel so grateful to have this time.
This is your time.
You can relax.
You think about when you arrived at the cabin yesterday.
You were in awe as you walked down the little path.
This cabin is so cute and magical.
You could almost not believe that it was all yours for the next few days.
You would find yourself sitting there with a big smile on your face,
Just feeling so grateful.
And then the sleep that you got last night was so refreshing.
You woke up feeling really rested.
And yet all you have to do today is rest some more.
You close your eyes and tip your head back just to get the sun in your face.
You can feel yourself charging up with the energy and power of the sun.
You breathe deeply and inhale the smell of flowers and grass and fresh air.
A cat walks slowly past the front of the cabin.
She's not in a hurry.
She finds a comfy spot and lies down in the sunshine.
She stretches her body.
It moves slowly and purposefully.
And then finds a comfortable position to lie down and have a nap.
You feel like that cat today.
You are inspired to stand up and move your body.
Your body feels vibrant and alive and the stretching feels so good.
You allow your body to move in any position it wants to.
You reach your hands up to the sky and feel a lovely stretch up your sides.
You move your body from side to side and just allow yourself to flow.
It's almost like a slow dance you are doing.
Your body flowing and bending.
You savor every stretch.
Every movement feels graceful and purposeful.
You head back inside the cabin and decide to light the wood stove.
It's that time of year where the sun is warm when it's on you.
But you know that by the afternoon you will appreciate the extra warmth that comes from a fire.
You clean out the ashes from last night.
You enjoy this task.
There is something so primal about taking care of and lighting a fire.
You pop in a natural fire lighter and arrange some kindling on top.
You light it and sit there adding kindling when needed.
And moving the sticks around keeping the flames going.
Until it's time to add on a bigger log.
You start to feel the heat from the flames.
And sit there gazing at the fire feeling so grateful for the warmth.
When you're sure that the fire is going well,
You add another log and close the door.
You sit cross-legged in front of the stove.
You are comfy and warm and you still have the whole afternoon ahead of you.
You settle into the sofa beside the fire.
You want to make sure that the fire is properly established before you go back out onto the porch.
Perhaps you pick up some knitting or a book.
You sit back and once again a wave of gratitude sweeps through your body as you delight in this moment.
It's not too long before you start to feel a little hungry.
So you prepare yourself a fresh and delicious meal.
And after topping up the fire you head back out onto the sofa on the porch to eat your dinner.
You eat mindfully and joyously.
You think of nothing else but how this food is so delicious and how it is nourishing you.
You curl up in the sofa and take out a notepad and pen and begin to write.
You just write whatever comes into your head.
It doesn't need to make sense.
It will never be read by anyone.
You just write and write and as you do you feel yourself relaxing even more.
It's as if the words that are going onto the paper are just any residual chatter that's in your head.
And once it's on the paper it's out of your head and you feel yourself becoming more and more still.
The birds are singing.
The trains are passing.
You are in your element.
Your body is soft and relaxed and your mind is clear and at rest.
You lie here enjoying the peace until you find yourself wandering back into the cabin.
You open the door and a delicious warmth from the fire hits you.
You pop a couple of bigger logs on the fire.
You notice that it's quite late.
You must have drifted off for a while when you were on the sofa.
The light is starting to get that dusky feel about it.
And you decide to take a warm shower.
There is a tiny little shower room which although tiny feels extremely luxurious.
It is painted dark green and it has gold taps and furnishings.
There are hanging plants and plants on every surface.
They are all so alive and vibrant.
This room feels magical.
You keep the door slightly ajar so you can keep an eye on the fire.
It's quite dark as it's at the back of the cabin and a little window is not getting much light through it.
So you light a few candles which just adds to the magical feeling.
And start the shower.
You step in,
The water is warm and inviting.
And your feet feel so good against the smooth stones on the ground.
There is a little rack in the shower with beautiful organic natural products.
You pick up an amber glass bottle and read the label by the flickering candlelight.
Relaxing body wash.
A delicious blend of lavender,
Ylang ylang and vanilla.
You pour some onto your hand and inhale the aroma.
You wash your body with this delicious potion.
Enjoying the feeling of the warm water on your skin.
You turn up the heat and luxuriate for a while under the hot water.
You step out of the shower and wrap yourself in the huge fluffy dark green towel.
Your body feels light and refreshed and relaxed to the core.
You lay a sheepskin rug in front of the fire and sit down still wrapped in your towel.
You sit there and stare into the flames.
You close your eyes and feel the cool drops of water on your eyelashes.
You dry yourself and put on your soft cotton pyjamas and fluffy socks.
You are toasty warm.
You make yourself a cup of sleepy tea and set it down on the coffee table next to the sofa.
You pop a couple of logs on the fire and lie down on the sofa facing the flames.
You pull a blanket over you,
Although you do not need it to feel warm.
Your body is the absolute perfect temperature.
You feel so safe,
So relaxed and so calm.
You feel like you are in a bubble of peace.
You lie there listening to the fire crackling as you think about your day.
Whilst doing exactly what you have felt like at any given moment,
You have had a day surrounded by a deep sense of peace and relaxation.
Your body has moved and rested.
It has been nourished and fed,
Bathed and relaxed and you are now enjoying the feeling of a day well spent.
You lie here for a while and enjoy the sounds of the fire.
As the fire starts to die down,
You throw in a few pieces of kindling so that you can watch the last few lively flames from your bed.
You go to the bathroom and brush your teeth whilst holding on to this sleepy feeling.
You blow out your candles and head over to your soft,
Comfortable bed and get in.
The only light in the room is the last dancing flames of the kindling.
Your bed is so comfy.
You feel so grateful for the velvety covers enveloping your body and the soft pillows cradling your head.
You feel yourself in that lovely place between awake and asleep.
You just lie here enjoying the last flames and the warmth and the peace as you drift into a delicious and restful sleep.
Knowing that you can do the very same thing tomorrow as you did today.
Night,
Night.
