My name's Alice and together we're going to go on a wee adventure.

So before we start let's get nice and comfy.

So perhaps you want to lie down on the sofa or lie down in your bed or get some cushions or a blanket and lie down on the floor.

And then let's close our eyes because it's much easier to imagine and to connect when our eyes are closed.

And then I'm going to invite you to put your hands,

Both hands,

Onto your belly.

And inside your belly you're going to imagine that there's a balloon and it's a balloon of whatever colour you choose.

And then what we're going to do is blow up the balloon with air as we breathe.

So as you take a big breath you can imagine the balloon blowing up and your hands moving out or moving up and then as the air comes out of your body and the balloon gets small again your hands move back down.

Let's try again.

Balloon nice and big and then small again.

Let's try two more.

Balloon nice and big and then let the air out of your body.

Last big belly breath and then let all the air out.

And now you can relax your hands and your arms back down by your side.

Now in our imagination we're going to go for a walk.

Not any old walk,

This is a really special walk.

So you can imagine yourself getting up and opening the door and as you go outside you realise you're in a magical,

Amazing forest.

And this forest is so full of life.

You can see so many types of trees and plants and flowers.

Look at all the different kinds of green,

The different colours,

The different textures.

And as you walk you can hear the crunch,

Crunch,

Crunch of the earth and the stones and the leaves under your feet.

You can hear the breeze moving through the trees and perhaps you can also hear some birds playing.

And you can also feel the sun warm on your skin.

And then sometimes a cloud goes over and you feel the temperature change.

And it smells so lovely and fresh and relaxing.

Smells like nature.

And you keep walking for a little bit and then you see a really special tree.

And this is a big old tree that's standing there in the centre of the forest.

Big and grand and calm.

And you realise and you know that this is your tree.

So slowly you go over and you sit down and you lean against this tree and you have a rest.

And it feels so nice and calm and relaxing to rest against this tree and to hear all the sounds of nature and just to be there.

And you notice the roots at the base of the tree and you imagine what those roots might look like.

In the earth.

The roots of this big old tree that are strong and that are going deep down into the ground.

Exploring,

Spreading out,

Intertwining.

And these roots help the tree be stable and present and safe.

And you also realise that you too have roots.

It's like you're connected to the tree and you're also part of the tree.

So you can also start to feel and imagine where you're sitting,

Exactly where you're sitting.

Big,

Strong,

Inquisitive roots that go searching and exploring down into the earth.

And these roots go deep and they help you feel really stable and really safe.

And it's like the ground and the earth is holding you,

Like it's giving you a hug.

And you sit there for a while and you just enjoy feeling what it feels like to connect to your roots.

And as you do this,

You can see all the nature sights around you and hear the birds playing and you can hear the breeze and the trees.

And you also start to think and feel how what roots do is give us and give plants and give trees energy and food.

So you can imagine how your roots and the roots of the tree are feeding you.

How all this life and all this energy comes up through the roots and fills you up from your legs and your feet all the way up.

And you feel filled to the brim with all this food and all this life and all this nutrition.

And it feels really nice and really special to be here and to feel this.

And you realise that there's something else.

Because your roots aren't the only roots that are down there.

You realise that your roots are connected to so many other roots.

And these roots support each other and make each other stronger.

And these roots come from other plants and other trees and other beings that are all completely different.

And that's what makes these roots and the connections so special.

That this difference is a really beautiful and really powerful thing.

So you start feeling all the connection from all these other unique roots that come from other plants and other trees and other beings.

And you fill yourself up and breathe it all in.

And you imagine your body completely full and really connected and calm.

Now it's time to say goodbye to this special place and this special tree.

So you can turn around and say thanks to the tree in your own way.

Knowing that you can come back to this place whenever you need and whenever you want.

And then you turn and you slowly walk back through the forest.

You go back to your door.

Back into your house.

And back into the room where you started this adventure.

And you're back lying down.

All connected and warm and relaxed.

And we come out of this adventure now by slowly starting to wake our body back up.

So slowly moving our fingers and our toes.

Maybe moving our neck a little bit.

Wiggling our nose.

Checking our nose is still there.

And then when you're ready you can open your eyes and have a nice big stretch.
