Namaste and welcome to this meditation on forgiveness and letting go of any resentment or negative emotions related to past financial experiences.
Find a seated or lying down position,
Whatever feels most comfortable for you.
Close the eyes if that feels safe.
Place one hand over the chest,
Connecting in with the heart space,
And one hand over the belly,
Connecting in with your intuition and gut instinct.
Start to breathe into and out of the hands,
Feeling the belly and chest rise as you inhale,
And feeling them lower as you exhale.
Reflect on any past financial situations that caused you pain.
It could be shame towards how much money you do or do not have.
It could be shame around impulsive spending,
Investments that didn't quite work out,
Loss of money or resources of any kind that caused you to feel pain,
Regret,
Shame,
Anger,
Or any other emotions that are uncomfortable.
Take the top three situations that come to mind.
For each of these situations,
Think of the lesson that you learned.
Contemplate a takeaway for each one of these.
Pretend that you're going to create a presentation to benefit someone else who might be going through a similar or similar situation.
For each situation that you can think of,
What would you say about what you went through that could be helpful to others?
Visualize yourself saying this,
Presenting this information to other people,
Maybe someone you care about,
Or you could visualize being in front of a classroom or a conference room or something of that nature,
And feel the sense of empowerment that comes with experience and wisdom.
Oftentimes we only need to reframe our past experiences.
We feel shame and embarrassment around them,
But really it's a lesson learned,
And we can turn that into wisdom,
Into guidance,
And into help for others.
And now practice forgiveness toward yourself and for any other people involved in these situations.
Every inhale is a receipt of forgiveness.
Every exhale is a letting go of any lingering negativity.
Every inhale is an acceptance,
An acknowledgement of the wisdom that you now have.
An exhale continues to let go of any lingering negativity,
Shame,
Or anger.
And now envision yourself in front of a chalkboard,
And you're just cleaning this chalkboard.
And now before you,
You have a clean slate.
Write down three affirmations moving forward in regards to any of the insights that you gained from this meditation today,
Writing them on this clean slate,
Saying them out loud.
It could be something like,
I release regret and shame,
And embrace wisdom and experience.
The lessons I learned helped me to be empowered and to empower others.
Instead of regret,
I can reflect and use this newfound wisdom to move forward with a clean slate.
Now come back to the breath,
Breathing into and out of the hands,
Feeling the belly and the exhale.
Every inhale is an acceptance of the wisdom and empowerment that you have gained,
And every exhale releases and lets go of any lingering negativity.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
The light in me honors the light in you.
Namaste.
