Welcome to this practice on stepping away from people pleasing and accessing your truth.
Finding your favorite position to receive this meditation in.
Gently closing your eyes and checking in with the body.
Which part of you has drawn you to this meditation?
Where can you feel this part inside of you?
Tuning into the energy that called you here.
And as you become aware of your people pleasing part,
Maybe it's in your stomach,
In your
chest or elsewhere in your body,
See if you can first find it and then notice anything
about it,
Such as how does it look like,
How was it feeling?
Perhaps you recognize this sensation in your body,
It's not the first time and you can
let this part of yourself know that you are here and you are listening to them.
You are here to help them now,
Doing this practice today.
Notice if there is any acknowledgement or response from their side and how do you feel
towards this part?
Do you feel curious,
Compassionate and calm?
If you cannot relate with these and there is some resistance,
Know that this is a protector
trying to keep you at a safe distance from your people pleasing part,
Trying to avoid
you from going there and you can ask it if it please will allow you through so that you
can do the healing work.
And as you are creating more space inside yourself,
Allowing your breath to deepen and
slow down,
Do you feel now more curiosity,
Calm and this warm feeling towards your people
pleasing part?
If not,
You might have to ask again if any other parts will please step aside.
Receiving this permission from your protectors is very important.
If we try to heal ourselves and access our wounds without receiving permission from
our protective system that has been keeping things under control,
We can re-traumatize
ourselves.
So ask as many times as you need until you feel the road is clear and you can go towards
the people pleasing part inside of you and now with your breath slow and deep,
Making
contact with the people pleasing part and asking if there is anything that they would
like to share with you,
What do they need right now and maybe simply being present with
each other is healing enough.
Maybe just knowing that there is a you,
There is a self that is kind,
Compassionate,
Calm
is all that this people pleasing part needs to know.
Just being held in your compassionate presence and maybe you feel like exchanging a hug,
Embracing this part,
Sending it your love and then from that place thanking them for
showing up and coming back into your whole body.
Notice any shift in unblending from this part,
Doing a short healing practice and then
from that empowered,
Spacious feeling,
Stepping into your new you,
Your truth.
People pleasing is a survival mechanism,
We try to comply with the other person so
that there is no conflict,
So maybe you have a sense now of a fear of conflict that this
part really has,
That's ok,
It's normal,
While holding this part.
You will now learn how to set boundaries,
How to say no,
How to stay true to yourself.
Take a deep breath in and imagine your highest,
Most authentic version of yourself.
How would they show up?
What would they do differently?
Imagine that this version of yourself,
You in your purest essence,
Set healthy and clear
boundaries.
Perhaps you can envision a certain situation and you can imagine things going differently,
For example,
Instead of you smiling and nodding yes and going along and people pleasing,
You
are rooted and grounded in yourself and speaking your truth.
Play out this scenario now in your mind and notice how it feels like in your body to be
grounded within yourself,
To access your truth and to stop giving this fear of conflict
all your power and attention.
Beautiful,
You are doing amazing work.
Take a comfortable breath in and release it out through your mouth.
Do that one more time,
Taking a comfortable breath.
Today you've explored some deeper work and you've got to know your people pleasing part.
And then you've experienced how it feels like,
How it looks like to shift out of people
pleasing and now it's time to do the real work out in the world.
Remember your most authentic truth.
When you are in a situation where your people pleasing part is blended with you,
Take a
deep breath in,
Hold it in your heart but don't let it become you.
Know that there is a you,
There is a self that can show up exactly how you want to show
up in the world.
And each time you practice this,
It gets easier and easier for us to do this.
