This meditation is brought to you by Andrea Kane Frank,
Mom,
Therapist,
Kindness practitioner,
Who is interested in the intersection of home,
School,
Work,
And play.
This is a loving kindness meditation for our current COVID challenge and for always.
So if you could find a place to sit or lie down,
Could be on a meditation cushion or in a chair or any place where you feel comfortable.
And just be gentle with yourself.
And if you find that your body needs shifting,
Just gently do that.
I will ring the chime and we will begin.
So if we could just be mindful of our breath and take a long,
Deep breath in and gently let that go.
Let's take another long,
Deep breath in and gently let that go.
And again,
We're sitting comfortably,
Being gentle with ourselves and focusing.
I will read the statements and you will say them to yourselves envisioning the person or people that we're identifying.
And in loving kindness,
It's important to begin with ourselves before we can share it with others.
So be mindful again of your breathing and position,
Shifting if necessary.
May I be well.
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I be safe.
May I live with ease.
May I be well.
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I be safe.
May I live with ease.
And for this next person,
I'd like for you to consider or think about someone you love and care for or even a beloved pet and get a clear picture of them in your mind.
Really see them.
Notice their characteristics,
Their face.
Really zero in on this person.
And we're going to offer them loving kindness.
May you be well.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be safe.
May you live with ease.
May you be well.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be safe.
May you live with ease.
May you be well.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be safe.
May you live with ease.
This next person is a neutral person.
It could be somebody who you may not know well.
You may see them often or maybe just occasionally.
It could be the cashier at the grocery store or a delivery person who brings your mail or packages,
A crossing guard or someone who you just don't know well but you may see them in passing to wave hello.
So pick that person and really get a good vision of them.
Bring them into your heart and we'll wish them some loving kindness.
And next,
Let's think of our caregivers and first responders and civic leaders who are leading us through this challenging time.
Maybe you may know a nurse or a doctor or a caregiver who is responding or a police or fire EMS personnel or just your community leaders or local mayors or governors.
Get a good picture of them.
And we'll send them some loving kindness.
And next,
We think about our teachers and school leaders maintaining our children's lessons sometimes while they're caring for their own families.
And we'll send them some loving kindness.
Let's get a good picture.
And it could be even if you had a past teacher or a past school leader who you may not interact with now,
But you still want to send some loving care their way.
May you be well.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be safe.
May you live with ease.
May you be well.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be safe.
May you be well.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be safe.
May you live with ease.
May you be happy.
May you be happy.
May you be happy.
May you be happy.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be safe.
May you be happy.
May you be well.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be safe.
May you live with ease.
May you be well.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be safe.
May you live with ease.
And now we take all of these sentiments and we include all of us,
Ourselves,
Those who we've remembered in this meditation,
Those in our neighborhoods,
Our communities,
Our countries,
Our world.
We send loving kindness to our global collective.
May we be well.
May we be happy.
May we be healthy.
May we be safe.
May we live with ease.
May we be well.
May we be happy.
May we be healthy.
May we be safe.
May we live with ease.
May we be well.
We may be happy.
May we be healthy.
May we be safe.
May we live with ease.
Namaste.
