Imagine a soft, silky blanket falling from the sky overhead; delicately dancing through the sky and making its way toward you. Imagine that this blanket falls over you and envelops your body in the most gentle, loving way. Allow this blanket of self-love to cradle your body and mind, any time of day or prior to bed at night... whenever you need to remember what it feels like to be comforted and cared for by your own compassionate self.

Hello and welcome.

Please take a moment to establish yourself in a comfortable seated position while making any adjustments necessary for your comfort.

Turn your attention towards the breath,

Breathing in through the nose and out through the nose.

Now,

Close your eyes or simply lower your gaze when you feel ready.

Simply notice any tension you might be holding in your face or jaw area.

Softly bring your awareness to your face and allow your jaw to lower about a half an inch or so.

Notice any tension you might be holding in your neck or shoulders and allow a gentle melting sensation as it moves down from your face,

Releasing any tightness.

See if you can allow that relaxation to move down your neck,

The tops of your shoulders,

Letting soothing relaxation flow all the way down through your body.

Noticing any other places within your body where you might be tense or straining and grant them permission to take a break,

Taking a slow but very deep breath.

Hold it for a moment and exhale fully and completely,

Letting out an audible sigh.

Now I'd like you to imagine a soft silk blanket which is falling from the sky overhead,

Delicately dancing through the sky and making its way towards you.

Imagine that it is colored in such a way that it represents unconditional love.

Notice what color this blanket is,

Whether it is a solid color or multiple colors.

Let it take on whatever color or colors you feel most inclined to that best represent something that is rather soothing and comforting.

Now I'd like you to imagine that this blanket falls over you and envelops your body in the most gentle,

Loving way.

And as it touches your body,

You realize that this blanket is infused with deep,

Unwavering,

Unconditional love.

And now that love is enveloping you.

Feel the love that this blanket carries which is now seeping into your skin,

Into your every cell,

Every muscle,

Every organ,

And every thought within your mind.

It seems to be cradling your mind.

So right now,

No matter how you're feeling or what you're thinking,

No matter what stories you're carrying,

This blanket embraces you,

Lovingly and unconditionally.

Much like the warmth of the afternoon sun which embraces all that it touches.

This warmth envelops every single part of you.

Some areas of your body might naturally receive this love while others might be resistant.

If this happens to be the case,

Place your focus on the areas where the love enters naturally.

Breathe softly and allow the love to spread to all the other areas.

Imagine the healing color of love flowing with each and every gentle breath.

Give yourself permission to take in what it feels like to be embraced by unconditional love,

Kindness,

And tenderness.

Whenever your mind wanders,

Just bring it back to the comfort of the blanket.

Breathing slowly and gently.

Notice how this loving blanket and the safety it brings changes your emotional state.

Does it offer a greater opportunity to be patient with yourself?

Does it soften some of the restlessness?

Does it make you want to share the blanket with someone else?

Someone you love?

When you feel ready to finish this session,

Take a moment to tune into your heart,

Perhaps placing your palms there.

Offer yourself gratitude for this practice,

Knowing that it's just that,

A practice.

Simply let your sense of this blanket dissolve if it hasn't already,

Knowing that it's available to you anytime,

Always.

Or allow it to stay,

Remaining flexible and even fluid as you go about your day to day.

Now,

Bring your awareness back to the breath and your sense of the seat beneath you.

Stretch your fingers and wiggle your toes and slowly open your eyes when you feel ready.

Thank you once again for joining me today.
