Welcome to this guided meditation on perfect identity.
What is Christian meditation?
Christian meditation is not emptying the mind,
But filling it with God's Word and presence.
It is the practice of slowing down,
Focusing our thoughts and scripture,
And letting the Holy Spirit guide us into truth.
Unlike secular meditation,
Our goal is not detachment,
But connection,
Drawing closer to Jesus,
Renewing our minds,
And resting in the love of God.
Find a comfortable seated position.
Sit upright but relaxed.
Rest your hands gently in your lap.
Close your eyes if you're comfortable.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose,
And then gently exhale through your mouth.
Again,
Breathe in God's peace,
And release any tension as you breathe out.
Now slowly,
Let's roll your neck to the right.
As long as it's comfortable,
Continue to roll to the right,
Just roll all the way around.
Nice and slow and gently.
And when you're ready,
Reverse that movement and roll the head to the left.
Release any stiffness,
And continue to roll as long as it's comfortable.
Now begin to still your head and gently bring it back to the nice upright position.
And let's gently roll your shoulders back,
Nice and slow,
Big,
Slow rolls.
They want you to notice any tension that you might be carrying,
And when you exhale,
Begin to breathe out that tension as you roll your shoulders.
And now let's rotate the shoulders and roll them to the forward.
So go ahead and let's just roll the shoulders forward,
Nice and slow.
Don't over-exaggerate the movement,
Just a nice,
Comfortable rolling of the shoulders.
And again,
If you're feeling any tension on your exhale,
Just imagine you're releasing all that tension out.
Letting go of any weight you've been carrying today.
Let it all go.
Now go ahead and move your body in any way you feel to get comfortable.
Just releasing the tension,
Getting comfortable.
Prepare to settle in.
Connecting your breath to the movement nice and slow.
Now begin to still the body when you're ready,
And allow your mind to quiet.
Relax the mind,
And allow your heart to soften before the Lord.
Imagine yourself resting in His arms.
Continue to breathe nice and slow inhales,
And on your exhales,
Continue to release any tension in the body.
Father God,
Thank you for this time of stillness.
Thank you for creating us,
For knowing us,
And for loving us.
We come before you with open hearts.
For those who struggle with identity,
Lord,
Replace confusion with clarity,
Lies with truth,
And fear with love.
Holy Spirit,
Guide us now into the truth of who we are in Christ.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
Scripture reading on perfect identity in Christ.
Genesis 1,
27 So God created mankind in His own image.
In the image of God,
He created them.
Male and female,
He created them.
Psalm 139,
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Your works are wonderful,
And I know that full well.
2 Corinthians 5,
17 Therefore,
If anyone is in Christ,
The new creation has come.
The old has gone,
The new is here.
Hebrews 10,
14 For by one sacrifice,
He has made perfect forever those who are being made whole.
Colossians 2,
10 And in Christ,
You have been bought to fullness.
He is the head over every power and authority.
Reflect on these scriptures.
Now enter into a few minutes of silence.
Imagine God's love surrounding you,
His Spirit whispering truth into your heart.
If your mind wanders,
Gently return to His truth.
In Christ,
I am whole.
In Christ,
I am made perfect.
Let the Holy Spirit speak.
Now,
Repeat after me.
I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
In Christ,
I am the new creation.
God made me perfect through the sacrifice of Jesus.
I am complete in Christ.
I am loved,
I am chosen,
And I am His.
Go ahead and bring your hands to prayer position.
Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
And the power,
And the glory,
Forever and ever.
Thank you for joining me in this meditation.
You can sit with Holy Spirit as long as you like.
And when you're through,
Take this peace with you back out into the world and spread it.
May you be blessed,
And I will see you next time.
