Good morning.
Welcome to this gratitude practice for positive energy.
Let's begin by just acknowledging everyone who is here with us this morning,
Everyone who is taking the time for themselves,
But also for the rest of the world.
Not everyone has the privilege to sit and breathe in peace.
So let's acknowledge that and be grateful that we have that freedom.
And this morning,
Let's breathe for all those who can't do so in peace.
Gratitude is a component of mindfulness,
But it's also its own practice.
Gratitude wakes up positive energy in the heart,
The mind,
The body.
We can't be grateful and negative at the same time.
Gratitude is like thanking the universe for all that is going right.
And then the universe in return gives more back to us.
So let's come into our comfortable seat,
Either on the floor or in a chair.
If you're in a chair,
Bring both feet to the floor and allow your spine to get tall as if you have a string pulling the crown of your head upright,
Dropping the shoulders away from the ears,
Allowing the eyes to close or just gaze down.
Your heart is open.
And first let's take five deep breaths.
Five deep breaths changes the brain.
So first,
Just bring awareness to the fact that you are breathing.
And as you inhale,
Just allow the belly,
The chest,
The ribs,
Everything to expand,
Filling up with the air.
And as you exhale,
Let the body soften.
Inhale,
We fill up,
We expand.
Exhale,
We let everything go.
Inhale,
Breathe in presence,
Energy.
And as you exhale,
Just let go of anything that's been holding you back.
Inhale,
Breathing in energy,
Vitality.
And as you exhale,
Just let the body relax.
Each inhale,
We breathe in,
We still our mind.
Each exhale,
We relax the body.
Each morning,
I start my day in gratitude.
So let's turn inward to what nourishes us,
Our breath.
Our breath is our nervous system's love language.
Usually,
I start my day with the simplest of things to be grateful for.
Maybe it's the fact that I'm merely awake.
I woke up today.
I'm grateful I'm alive.
I'm grateful for my breath.
I'm grateful for nature,
For the sun,
Keeping the trees alive.
Every day,
I'm grateful for the trees,
The way they breathe in,
What we breathe out.
We are all connected.
I'm grateful for the bees,
The bees that support the growth of trees,
Flowers,
And the interconnectedness of all of life.
I'm grateful for my health,
My healthy body,
Brain,
Heart.
I'm grateful I have the ability to teach mindfulness.
It was a gift to me.
I'm grateful to give that gift to others.
I'm grateful for all the people who have supported me in my life.
I'm grateful for all of my experiences,
Good and bad.
I'm even grateful for the people who hurt me.
They were my greatest teachers.
They showed me my strength.
What are you grateful for?
What are you grateful for?
What are you grateful for?
Keep going.
Can you find more,
More to be grateful for?
What are you grateful for?
What are you grateful for?
Can you allow this gratitude to permeate through your whole body your heart,
Your mind,
Every cell in your body?
There's so much to be grateful for.
Keep coming back anytime you need to remember.
Come back.
I'm grateful for you.
I love you.
