Welcome,
I'm Itzel,
And thank you for joining me in meditation today.
Let's begin.
Allow yourself to find a comfortable position for the body.
You can be sitting,
Standing,
Lying down,
Allowing the body to settle in a way that feels supported and comfortable.
Allow the eyes to lower,
The gaze to soften,
Or if it's comfortable,
You can allow the eyes to gently close.
Take a moment to notice those parts of the body in contact with the surface supporting it.
There's nothing to change or fix,
Simply sensing what's here.
And now bring gentle awareness to the breath.
Notice the natural rhythm of the breath,
Air entering and leaving the body,
Letting the breath move however it moves.
Allow yourself to be breathed.
If the mind wanders,
That's okay.
When you notice,
Simply come back to the breath,
Meeting each return to the breath with compassion.
At times you may notice a sound or an emotion or thought.
There's no need to push anything away,
Anything in this moment.
Allow it to arrive and fall,
And return to this simple knowing.
Breathing in,
Aware of breathing in.
Breathing out,
Aware of breathing out.
In this way,
The breath becomes a steady presence within change,
A reminder that each thing in life,
Each experience,
Each moment,
Comes and goes.
And when you're ready,
Feel again those points in contact with the body,
The weight of the body on the surface supporting it,
The air on the skin,
The sounds around you.
And before opening or lifting the eyes,
Taking a moment to remind yourself that as you move back into the flow of your day,
You can always come back to the breath to ground you in this present moment.
And we'll close our meditation today with a silent wish that the entire universe and all beings everywhere know peace,
Peace,
And only peace.
