My name is Nola Bloom,
And this is a short meditation for moments when the mind feels busy or overstimulated.
Allow the eyes to soften or gently close.
Take a slow,
Easy breath in,
And exhale without effort.
And again,
Inhale and exhale.
The body relaxes a little more.
Notice the movements of thoughts out trying to change them.
The mind thinks,
That is its nature.
Instead of following each thought,
Imagine them passing like clouds across the midnight sky.
You don't need to chase or push them away.
Just bring your attention back to something simple.
Feeling of your breath,
The sensations in your body,
Feeling of air passing through your nostrils.
Each time the mind wanders,
Gently return to the present moment.
Nothing needs to be resolved right now.
Clarity comes when the mind is allowed to soften.
And carry this quiet with you as you move forward through your day.
