Good morning. Welcome back. Turtle Angelo here for another episode of Cosmic Coffee. Today we're exploring the astrology of October. So grab your coffee and let's get into it. September was about questioning what balance means and sort of testing new boundaries. In October, We'll be exploring more emotional, Raw, And real themes. This month invites us to move past surface level harmony and kind of wrestle with what's going on beneath the surface, Right? The conversations we avoid, The patterns we inherit, Or perhaps the truths that we'd rather not name. So on October 1st, Mercury and Libra squares Jupiter and Cancer. What is kind of like walking into a room where everybody is smiling politely, But you just can't shake the feeling you've walked in on something kind of emotionally charged. Maybe love, Maybe need, Maybe frustration. Jupiter doesn't do anything halfway. And in Cancer, It magnifies the need for care and protection and belonging. Think about conversations you had where the words were civilized, But the feeling underneath was really something more along the lines of, I need more than you're giving me. Or, I want to be seen for who I really am, Not just politely tolerated. Mercury and Libra wants grace in dialogue, Measured words, Right? Mutuality, Fair dealing. Jupiter doesn't do anything halfway. And in Cancer, It magnifies the urge to care and to protect and to make a room at the table. The square could manifest as like overdoing it. You know, Words that overpromise, Plans that balloon out of control because we want everyone to feel included. Agreements made to avoid tension rather than because they're true. So you might find you've committed to hosting Thanksgiving and organizing the fundraiser and being the shoulder to cry on while your body is quietly screaming, Who's taking care of me? Jupiter's gift is confidence and meaning, But its shadow is inflation. The inflation is emotional and familial in Cancer. You know, I'll handle it. We've got everyone. I'll be there for you. Said faster than we actually can honor, Right? This, This is the team meeting where you offer to take on all this extra work because the silence feels awkward. The family chat where you agree to host because no one else is volunteering. Maybe even the text thread where, You know, No problem is easier than I just can't this time. So this is where generosity without clarity is draining both the giver and the receiver. So maybe instead you say, I want help. Here's what I can realistically do. Maybe some things you ask yourself are like, Where am I tempted to be agreeable instead of sincere? What would a smaller, Truer yes sound like? And then just a couple of days later, Mercury is going to oppose Chiron and Aries. That polite balancing act is going to hit a sore spot. You know, If I tell the truth about what I need, Will I still be loved? If I stop smoothing things over, Will people still respect me? Chiron and Aries is raw and it carries the wound of self-assertion. Many of us grew up learning it wasn't safe to be direct. Maybe when you spoke up as a kid, You were told you were like too much. Maybe at work you've been penalized for having a strong opinion. So the reflex becomes keep it soft, Keep it vague, Keep it nice. But the strategy only works until it doesn't, Right? Until someone asks you how you really feel and the truth catches in your throat. You know, In Buddhism, They talk about the two arrows. The first arrow is the pain of the moment, But that second arrow is self-judgment about having that pain to begin with. So with Mercury, Chiron, The first arrow is the risk of honest speech. And that second arrow is the voice that says, Why can't you just let this go? Why am I so sensitive? See if you can remove that second arrow. Let the first one be enough. So some things to ask yourself here are, Where do I hedge? Where do I hide incivility? Where do I swallow honesty? Because I'm afraid of being harsh or needy or selfish or something like that. We don't need to bulldoze people with our needs. We just need to practice saying something simply. No padding, No apology, Just this matters to me. Okay. On October 6th, We get a potent sequence. In the morning, Mercury enters Scorpio. And by evening, We have a full moon in Aries. Mercury's shift into Scorpio changes the mental weather, Right? Conversations are going to take on a different tone, Less courtesy or weighing sides, More getting to the root of things. Mercury in Scorpio does not settle for surface talk. It digs. It listens for what's not being said. It notices contradictions. It notices tone. It notices silence. Even in casual conversations, You may find yourself there's more under the surface, More like under the words that are being said and actually wanting to go there. So then by the evening, This full moon in Aries comes through. It's going to bring things to light. So whatever's been building inside of us might come to a head. In Aries, This has the flavor of assertion and independence and maybe an urgency. Aries doesn't really sit quietly, Right? It kind of surges. So emotions that have been bottled up have a potential for spilling out. At this time, Desires we maybe hold back, They're going to come bursting forth. This lunation can feel like an ignition, The match that sort of lights the tinder because Mercury has already shifted into Scorpio earlier that day, Right? The full moon doesn't just release energy and move on. Scorpio's presence means the words spoken or the actions taken under this moon might linger, Kind of have an echo effect. We'll keep replaying them and turning them over, Asking what they really mean. It's kind of as though Aries provides the eruption and Scorpio ensures we sift through the ashes for meaning. So this can play out in different ways, Right? Maybe an argument that breaks out that just sticks with you. You can't stop thinking about what was said, What it revealed. Maybe you make some bold declaration. I can't keep doing this. You know, I want this now. And in the days that follow, Mercury and Scorpio kind of nudges you to trace the deeper roots of why that truth came out. Maybe you have like a breakthrough of courage taking kind of a first step you'd been maybe avoiding and then immediately start reflecting on how this step connects to longer patterns in your life. The risk with Aries is always volatility, But the presence of Scorpio here suggests that even if things get heated, The story doesn't end there. The eruption is really just the beginning of a deeper excavation. Okay, Then on October 7th, Mercury makes a square to Pluto in Aquarius. Now, Pluto intensifies. It applies pressure. It compels what's buried to the surface. In Aquarius, That pressure lives in the collective space. It's going to be in groups and communities, Networks, The way we organize and share our power. You put that against Mercury and Scorpio and now words and questions and discoveries have the ability to expose an underlying truth that was probably shaping things all along. Sometimes this can look like one sentence that changes the way you see an entire relationship or like a piece of information in a group setting that shifts the balance of power. Even internally, Realizing maybe that the story you've been telling yourself about a situation really doesn't hold up anymore. There's kind of a sense that the curtain is being pulled back here. The challenge of this transit is really going to be control. Scorpio and Pluto both know how to hold information tightly, How to use silence or revelation strategically. So what truth is pressing to the surface right now? You know, Where are you tempted to use what you know as a way of staying in control? And how would it feel to let clarity itself be the transformation? Mercury and Scorpio, Square, Pluto and Aquarius invites us to notice the power of words. Okay, So on October 8th, Venus in Virgo makes a sextile to Jupiter in Cancer. And this is one of those gentle, Supportive days of the month. Venus in Virgo expresses love through care and attention to detail, Acts of service. It's the, You know, Friend who notices that you're cold and hands you a sweater before you even ask. It's affection that's humble and, You know, Sort of precise in some way. Exactly what you needed, Right? Jupiter in Cancer, Meanwhile, Wants to protect, To nourish, To create belonging, Right? So when these two planets connect harmoniously, We're reminded that small gestures actually carry an enormous meaning. A warm meal, A kind word, Like a simple check-in. These are the places where joy grows, Where we feel seen and heard, Right? There's nothing flashy about this transit, But it doesn't need to be. It reminds us that devotion often lives in the ordinary. This is a good way to ask yourself, Where can I offer care that really helps? You know, Not something that's performative. Where am I able to give in a way that actually lightens someone's load? We sometimes kind of underestimate how much these little things matter. And Jupiter in Cancer says that no act of care is wasted. No kindness is too small. And just a couple of days later, On October 11th, Venus in Virgo is going to be facing an opposition from Saturn, Which is retrograde in Pisces right now. And the tone shifts, Okay? What was easy, Generosity, Is now going to meet some kind of limit. Love requires boundaries at the end of the day, Right? Devotion requires responsibility. We see where energy is finite and where sacrifice has become sort of imbalanced. This opposition can feel like being asked to weigh whether your giving is sustainable. You know, Have you been caring for others to the point of exhaustion? Have you been doing small acts of love that no one even notices while your own needs are basically going unmet? Saturn's going to ask you to be honest about where your duty becomes depletion, You know? On the flip side, Saturn could show up as a moment that forces us to take love seriously. So maybe you realize that casual gestures aren't enough in a relationship and you want structure and commitment or something that actually holds. Or maybe you see where idealism about love, Right? This is Pisces, Has drifted too far. And now Saturn's going to be insisting that you receive some clarity and look at things honestly. So think of this moment as love meeting reality. You know, Venus is like, Here's my affection. And Saturn is like, That's great, But what does it cost? Will it last? So some things that you could probably ask yourself at this time are, Where am I offering love in ways that genuinely helps? And where am I overextending myself? Do my relationships balance, You know, Sweetness and tenderness with responsibility? And what boundaries would make my care more sustainable? Um, Where is, Where is it time to bring structure to something I've left undefined, Right? October 13th, Venus leaves Virgo and enters Libra. One of her home signs, Mind you. In Libra, Venus is all grace, Beauty, Harmony. I mean, She's really at home here, But the shift is not without challenge. So right away, Venus is going to be facing an opposition to Neptune and Aries. And Neptune likes to blur things a bit, Brings dreams and illusions, Um, And longing. And in Aries, That fog's going to center on independence and identity. So this is a moment where you may need to consider, Am I loving the person in front of me or the idea of them? Am I projecting my hopes and dreams or actually meeting what is real here? So you may feel that tug between clarity and fantasy. You might feel even a disappointment if a relationship or desire doesn't live up to the image that you're holding. Uh, You might be tempted to morph or merge into someone else's vision, Confusing, You know, Going with the flow or surrender, Right? With, With avoidance, Frankly. The medicine here is discernment, Allowing yourself to, To dream and feel that, Um, Lovely sensation that comes from a Neptune transit, But remembering that dreams are not agreements. On the same day, Pluto stations direct in Aquarius and stations are moments of intensity. It's like this pause where all the weight of the planet gathers before moving forward again. So, I mean, Think about like the Titanic attempting to turn around. Um, Pluto direct in Aquarius turns up the pressure on collective structure structures. So, Um, This is how we organize, How power circulates, How groups hold or even resist transformation. And because this happens as Venus is navigating Neptune, There can be themes of relationships or communities shifting as sort of hidden truths or unspoken dynamics are felt more strongly. Then, Uh, October 14th, Venus forms trines to Uranus and Pluto. So these are transits we've been seeing sort of repeatedly over the past couple months. These aspects bring breakthroughs. Uh, Uranus is like shaking us awake, Reminding us that love doesn't have to follow the same script. And then Pluto sort of ensures that the change has depth and weight. So this can look like renegotiating the terms of your relationship, Finding a new way of sort of sharing responsibilities, Or even refreshing how you express your love. Um, Ultimately it is supportive energy though for like honesty and growth, Um, Provided we're willing to let old forms basically evolve. Some questions that you could probably explore during this period is where do I confuse the idea of love with the reality of it? Um, What comforting illusions have suddenly just shattered on me? How do I allow my relationships to grow rather than holding on to old expectations? Also, What truth if embraced could actually bring more harmony to the situation? So October 13th and 14th is a reminder that beauty's not as fragile as one might think. Real harmony isn't about perfection. It's flexibility, It's honesty, And it's the willingness to let yourself evolve, Your relationship evolve, Etc. Okay, On October 16th, The sun in Libra makes a square to Jupiter in Cancer. Squares tend to stretch things, Sometimes to the point of discomfort. And with Jupiter involved, Exaggeration is definitely going to be the word of the day. Jupiter in Cancer is exalted, It's generous, It's protective, It's overflowing with like this impulse to care. And the sun in Libra, Um, On the other hand, Shines its light on appearances, Uh, Fairness, And like the social balance of things. So when these two press against each other in a tensionful way, We're asked to notice where our ideals of harmony and belonging may be inflating beyond what is sustainable. So I've already kind of covered themes like this. You, This is, This is just another transit that's tapping into similar aspects of it. One theme that might surface here is inflation around fairness and belonging. You could notice yourself tallying who has done what or who owes what, And suddenly the scale feels really enormous. Maybe in like a partnership, You've been quietly thinking, I've, I do so much and I'm just not getting back what I deserve. Or in, In your family, You might be feeling, I'm always the one holding things together, Where's my recognition? The sun in Libra can overemphasize balance as a matter of appearances. Jupiter in Cancer amplifies the need to feel cared for. So together, They kind of tip us into a kind of quiet scorekeeping that eventually swells into frustration. Another theme is the tension between appearances and nourishment. So Libra wants things to look balanced and harmonious. You know, Cancer wants to actual like safety and emotional food. So consider what am I choosing? What looks good or what genuinely sustains me? For example, You might accept an invitation because it seems like the, The fair or right thing to do, Even though your body is begging for rest. I do this all the time. I tally in my head, How many times have I had to cancel on this person? Or, You know, How much have they been showing up for me lately? And then that'll generate a yes when internally it's a no. Or you might keep a family tradition alive because it looks good from the outside, You know, Kind of like catching a family gathering through a window, But inside no one's actually enjoying themselves. So these moments highlight the difference between looking balanced and actually feeling nourished. Another theme is generosity versus overextension. So these are all kind of like mutations of this dynamic. This is just a nuancial shift from my last example, But Jupiter in Cancer loves to give. It's the archetype of the warm host, The protective parent, The one who wants everyone to feel included. But with a square to the sun, The desire to appear generous can start to override reality. So maybe you offer to host an event because it feels like the right thing to do in the moment, But secretly, You don't really have the bandwidth. Or you keep giving at work because you want to be seen as collaborative, Even though your plate is completely full. This aspect shines a light on where our generosity is tipping us into depletion. So what do we do with this? Well, I mean, We don't want to turn off our generosity, Right? But instead of becoming more, We want to become more conscious of proportion. Jupiter is always tempting us to say yes, To do more, To expand. But the real growth here is learning when enough is enough. So some things to reflect on here would be where am I kind of keeping score in my relationships? Am I prioritizing appearances of harmony over the reality of what I need? Where am I giving past the point of even joy? And what would it mean to kind of stop there? Okay, So the very next day, October 17th, The sun in Libra opposes Chiron and Aries. So here the light shines on an old bruise. Chiron's wound is not about weakness, Really. It's about those lessons we carry around identity and selfhood. In the sun, Opposing Chiron can feel a little bit tender. Someone could call out a pattern you have, Or suddenly you're face-to-face with a part of yourself that still feels rejected. Or you recognize the way you've avoided conflict to keep the peace, Only to realize that it's cost you some kind of authentic expression. And this isn't about shame. It's asking you to learn that vulnerability is part of wholeness, And the wound doesn't disqualify you. It humanizes you. Okay, So then on October 19th, Mercury joins Mars and Scorpio. This is not a soft aspect. It fuses the mind with the tongue, With that sort of cutting edge of Mars, All under Scorpio's command for like depth, Intensity, And really getting to the root of things. So words here are not casual. They carry force. They land, Right? One theme that often emerges with this combination is speech that cuts or clears. So think about those moments when you've been holding something back, And then in the middle of some heated conversation with a partner or a family member, The words finally burst through strong and clear. So under this transit, The words might come out a little sharper than expected. They can sting, But they can also cut through layers of confusion, Bringing relief and clarity at the same time. So the question is whether the cut is surgical, You know, Meant to heal or wounding and leaving scars. Another theme is that kind of mental fixation and focus that Scorpio can bring. It doesn't like to skim. It likes to burrow. So when Mercury and Mars come together here, The mind takes on a kind of tunnel vision. And this can be brilliant if you finally sit down and like hammer out the details of a project that's been overwhelming you, Or you research something obsessively until you reach the root of it. But it can also feel like you can't let go of thought or a conversation and can kind of turn into rumination. So you're replaying scenarios, Sharpening arguments long after the moment has passed. I've definitely done this. The conjunction can also bring like the courage to call shit out, Right? Not necessarily, You know, Some big collective secret or scandal, But more often these will be subtle truths that keep, That we just, You know, We just keep hidden for our own sakes. A little mini protection. So it could be a small or intimate admission to a friend, You know, I'm actually kind of jealous of you. Or maybe you tell your partner, You know, I really don't feel heard when you do that. So not necessarily this big explosive revelation, But still something that can take a little courage because it's personal and it's vulnerable. And what's said under this transit is hard to take back. It sticks, It reverberates, And it shapes the dynamic. So some things to consider around that are like, Where am I tempted to use words as weapons? What like idea or maybe even suspicion has been consuming my attention? What truth, However small or subtle, Would bring relief if I actually spoke it out loud? Then on October 21st, We have a new moon in Libra beginning a new cycle in the sign of balance and beauty and relationship, Which is sort of great at the end of kind of our Libra season. And new moons are often quiet, Like subtle seeding moments. They invite us to pause and to notice and to set intention for what we want to grow. So Libra's connection is kind of around the way two people or two forces find equilibrium. And you know, Harmony isn't always what it looks like from the outside. Sometimes we chase the appearance of balance while inside resentment is building. So we've already talked about this a few times, Right? One theme here is like beginning again in partnership. So maybe you've had tension with a loved one or a colleague and there's been silence where there needs to be conversation. This lunation offers a chance to start fresh, To plant a new seed in the way you connect, You know, A promise to check in more often, Or maybe even the courage to answer honestly when someone asks you, How are you doing? Beginnings don't need to be grand or powerful. Another theme is like rebalancing after extremes. So Libra teaches us that the scales tip, Right? Sometimes toward overgiving, Sometimes toward withdrawal. And maybe you've been saying yes to every request and exhaustion has crept in, Or maybe you've walled yourself off to avoid disappointment, You know, And now the loneliness is kind of settling in. And there's also the theme of agreements, Spoken or unspoken. We all live under them, Right? The roles we play, The expectations that we've accepted. You might be the one in your family who always smooths things over or the friend who's always listening, But never asks for help. So are these agreements still fair? You know, Do they honor, Um, Do they honor you as much as they honor others? This is a chance to rewrite the terms, Even if only in your own heart. What I love about Libra's New Moon is that it reminds us, Peace is not passive. You know, Real peace is built through intentional choices, Through the ongoing work of honesty and fairness and respect. Okay. So October 22nd carries to shift. We've got Neptune retrograding back into Pisces, Kind of like a fog rolling in, Right? This is where sensitivity rises and, Uh, Boundaries get thinner. We've got dreams and creativity and longing sort of calling out a little louder, But, Um, Sort of confusion and the temptation to drift. So you may wake feeling a bit more porous and reflective. Um, But that evening the sun enters Scorpio and that is a shift that is much harder to miss. Libra season comes to a close and Scorpio season is going to bring with it some depth and intensity and honesty and, You know, Transformation. Scorpio wants to, Um, Expose. So the mood turns a bit heavier and a little more probing. So you might feel the atmosphere start to sharpen, Um, On the evening of the 22nd, You know, Deeper conversations, Um, Strong emotions, Maybe, Maybe even a sense of being pulled into like the marrow of things. Um, On October 23rd, Jupiter in Cancer is going to make a square to Chiron and Aries. Uh, This is a meeting of two very different impulses. Jupiter in Cancer, Like I've said, Wants to nurture, Wants to shelter, Um, And, And expand the circle of belonging. It's the archetype of this generous host, Right? The, The one who makes sure that everyone is fed and everyone is taken care of. And Chiron in Aries, Um, Sort of points to the wound of self-assertion. So those were all places where speaking up and taking space or, Or standing alone has felt dangerous or even painful. So for some, This could look like, Um, The discomfort of receiving, You know, Maybe a friend offers to help. And instead of saying thank you, You rush to insist like, No, No, I've got this. Uh, Jupiter in Cancer extends generosity, But Chiron in Aries is going to wince and be like, If I accept this, Does that mean I'm weak? You know, This, This square invites us to consider that, Uh, Sometimes it takes more courage to receive than to give. And I can feel that one. I don't know about y'all. For others, The tension shows up in like overgiving, Right? Jupiter in Cancer, Which as you've seen so far as we go through October, Um, Over and over again can expand to the point of exhaustion. Um, So always being that caretaker, Always, Um, Making sure that others are feeling safe. And when that squares Chiron in Aries, We might realize that we've been so focused on nurturing everyone else that we've neglected, Um, The wound of our own unmet needs. Uh, So this is like the healer who won't let themselves be healed. The parent who forgets they need parenting. And then there's friction between, Um, Nurturing and independence, Right? Maybe, Uh, Maybe in your family or workplace, You kind of long for, Uh, Some, Some sort of care for someone to hold space for you. But that Chiron in Aries wound is, Is saying, If I admit that, That I need this, They're going to think I can't handle myself. Right. Or, Um, Maybe you pride yourself on being self-reliant, Guilty, Uh, Only to discover that loneliness comes with that, Right? The medicine of this square is remembering that true strength, It doesn't mean doing everything alone. Um, Care doesn't mean losing yourself and others, You know, Healing lives in the interdependence, The brave act of giving and receiving in equal measure. All right. So then on October 24th, We've got a bit of a doozy. So hold on to your hats first. Um, The sun in Scorpio is going to square in a query. Sorry. It's going to square Pluto in Aquarius where, Uh, We can often feel pressure to confront something. So the sun in Scorpio already wants to probe beneath the surface, Right? Pluto is amplifying that impulse, Forcing us to face what, Uh, We might actually rather ignore in Aquarius. Pluto is going to add that collective dimension, Right? The group, The system, The community, Uh, The bigger picture, If you will, Of like how power circulates. Okay. So this isn't just private secrets. It can be truths about the roles we play in our families, Our friendships, Our workplaces, Um, And our greater social groups. The themes of control and leverage and exposure are strong here. We could suddenly see what's been really shaping the dynamics all along. So maybe someone has been quietly pulling the strings behind the scenes, Right? Influencing decisions, Controlling outcomes in ways that, Uh, Others didn't recognize. That's Pluto working under the surface, Right? Working in the shadows. But then you have this sort of illuminating moment, Uh, A meeting or a comment or like an honest question that sort of brings the behavior out into the open. Now everyone can see it and the dynamic has to be addressed. Uh, Or maybe there's a pattern that you usually suppress like jealousy or, You know, Fear of abandonment or, Um, The ways that we like to control others. And most days you manage to keep that buried, Right? Relegated to the shadow. You don't even notice it. Uh, Under a sun's square Pluto aspect, Something's going to trigger your awareness and now you're going to notice it in yourself with clarity. Um, And it's going to be hard to deny or ignore. Now layer on top of that Mercury and Scorpio forming a trine to Jupiter and Cancer. Mercury and Scorpio speaks with depth, Right? Honesty and Jupiter and Cancer is going to expand that into compassion and, Uh, And care. So this is the archetype of the wise counselor, The healing truth teller. Um, This offers the chance to address the work issue in a constructive way through clarifying discussion through honest dialogue that ultimately ends up strengthening the team. Um, You know, This aspect is that inner voice that reminds you this realization that you've come to about yourself is just the beginning. You know, You, You can change. So this potentially spicy day reminds us that truth and care are not opposites. Um, You know, The, The hardest revelations sometimes come hand in hand with the conversations that actually help us heal or work through them. Uh, Okay. So October 25th, Mercury and Scorpio is going to form a trine to Saturn retrograde and Pisces. Uh, This offers kind of a container to hold what surfaced the day prior Mercury and Scorpio. It's going to want that depth, Right? It digs. It asks uncomfortable questions. It names what others want to avoid. Saturn, Even in retrograde is going to bring structure and discipline and boundaries. So together they remind us that difficult truths, They don't have to spill out chaotically. They can be spoken with clarity and restraint and compassion. This is the energy of a serious and grounded conversation. So if you had a blow up on the 24th and things come to, Um, Come to a head, There's a lot of Ron unfiltered, Uh, Stuff expressed October 25th. It's the perfect day to sit down and calmly talk it through. You don't need, Um, Necessarily a thousand words. You just need the right ones, Uh, Spoken carefully. And with the weight that they deserve, It's also an aspect that favors turning insight into practice. So maybe you've been, Um, You know, Journaling about some habit or pattern you see in yourself, Or maybe you're talking to your therapist about that, Uh, Under this transit, You can move from analysis to application. You know, Here's the small change that I can make. It might be setting a boundary or changing a routine. Um, It could simply just be committing to like one step at a time, Right? Saturn teaches us that that real transformation happens through consistency, Not intensity. Uh, So this is, This is about boundaries and communication. Cause in, In Pisces, Saturn is learning to hold shape in the midst of all this fluidity. And in retrograde, It sort of revisits where those lines have blurred.
