This meditation was inspired by an early morning adventure to watch the sunrise. It is a combination of breath awareness and guided imagery. Without fail the sun rises every morning, in life, it’s an ever-present representation of consistency. Sometimes its light is hidden and other times it shines brilliantly. Much like our days vary in our perception of good or bad. Yet we continue to rise and push forward so we can find brighter and brighter days. Much Love.

If you have the opportunity to do this meditation with the rise of the sun or in a sunlit place,

I highly recommend doing so.

To begin and on your own time,

Casually move into your most comfortable meditative position for the space you are in.

This could be cross-legged on the ground,

Seated anywhere with the hips above the knees,

Or simply relaxed on the back.

What we are looking for is to feel ease and to be in a relaxed place physically,

As to receive minimal distractions from the body.

This allows us easier passage inward and into stillness.

Now,

From this easeful relaxed space,

Begin to notice your breath.

As your focus shifts to it,

Begin to slow it down,

With intention,

Lengthening your inhales as they move in through the nose and deep into the abdomen,

Then expanding upward.

Lengthening your exhales as the air slowly filters out,

Slightly warmer than before.

Continue to focus on the slow in and out movement of your breath.

We can imagine the inhale carrying inward positive energy,

Courage to overcome the rest of our day,

And resiliency to the obstacles we may have before us.

We can imagine the exhale releasing tension,

Anxiety,

Stress,

And anything we no longer wish to hold onto.

Now,

In your mind's eye,

Picture the first glimpse of the sun cresting over the distant horizon in front of you,

Its bright rays of light flooding over the landscape around you,

Illuminating and bringing renewed life to the world.

As the sun continues to climb higher into the sky before you,

The warmth it brings begins to spread throughout your body.

This warmth brings healing,

Comfort,

And safety.

This warmth comes from the same source that supports and brings life to all living things on our planet,

Including you.

It supports you.

Without fail,

The sun rises every morning.

In life,

It's an ever-present representation of consistency.

Sometimes its light is hidden,

And other times it shines brilliantly.

Much like our days vary in our perception of good or bad,

Yet we continue to rise and push forward so we can find those brighter and brighter days.

Trust that you are capable of remaining here in this moment for the next little while,

And know that I will guide you back when it is time to move on.

Allow the fluctuations of the mind to shift towards what lays ahead.

Feel free to give in to the inclinations of the body to stretch and move.

Thank you for spending this time with me today in meditation.

I hope to see you here again soon.

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.

Namaste.
