In this meditation we'll embark together on a nurturing journey where you will reconnect with your wounded inner child.
Perhaps during your upbringing you experienced rejection,
Criticism,
Neglect or were let down by your parents,
Caregivers or others.
Maybe you were made to feel unloved,
Unaccepted or insignificant.
Your feelings,
Experiences or needs may have been invalidated or you didn't receive the emotional,
Physical or psychological care you needed and deserved.
It's possible there was a combination of these things.
Now it's time for you to heal these wounds and show up for yourself as the parent your inner child wished it had.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable position,
Seated or lying down,
Allowing yourself to relax and settle into the present moment.
Whenever things become intense,
Remember that your breath is your anchor and you can always return home to the present moment through it.
Let's take a few deep breaths together.
Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth,
Releasing any stress or tension.
Do this for six more times at your own rhythm,
Anchoring yourself in the safety of this present moment.
Now imagine yourself in a peaceful and serene environment.
It could be a beautiful garden,
A tranquil beach or any place that brings you a sense of calm and safety.
See yourself walking in this environment.
Feel the ground underneath your feet.
Just be there.
And in the distance,
You spot a group of trees and among them,
There is a cave-like structure.
As you walk closer to it,
Step by step,
Breath by breath,
You discover that this is a fort.
But it's not just any fort.
It's a special fort built by your inner child.
See the portal or door in front of you that leads you inside this fort.
This door represents a gateway to your past,
Specifically a moment from your childhood where your inner child may have experienced a significant wound or challenge.
To open the door,
Ask your subconscious mind now,
Do I have your permission to reveal what's needed for my highest expression and evolution?
And as your subconscious mind nods yes,
Your granted access,
The door opens and you see yourself stepping through,
Entering that specific moment from your past.
As you enter,
Visualize yourself as your present adult self filled with love,
Compassion and wisdom.
In front of you,
See your younger self,
Your inner child,
Standing there with their unique qualities and innocence.
Take a moment here to observe what state your inner child is in.
Allow yourself to feel any emotions that might come up.
Breathe calmly and mindfully observe the situation as a mature grown-up who is now safe and in control.
What do you see?
What do you hear?
What do you feel?
Visualize yourself walking towards your inner child,
Approaching them with open arms,
Expressing love and acceptance.
Feel or see yourself standing in front of your inner child,
Looking into their eyes.
Ask them,
What is it that you need to tell me?
Wait and listen for their response.
Now check in with yourself.
What is it that your adult self wants and needs to tell your inner child?
Offer comfort,
Love and reassurance to the both of you by saying out loud,
I am here for you now.
You are loved,
Worthy and deserving of care as you are.
I trust and believe in you.
Your emotions are valid and worthy of attention.
I am committed to nurturing and protecting you.
You are safe with me now.
I see you.
I hear you.
I love you.
I value and celebrate your uniqueness.
Take a moment of silence to fill in the blanks with anything else you want to tell your inner child.
Now hug your inner child,
Visualizing a warm healing light surrounding both of you.
Feel the safety,
Love and healing energy enveloping you both,
Providing solace and reassurance.
Stay in this space of connection and healing for a few more moments,
Allowing your inner child to receive the love and support they need.
Now express gratitude to yourself for having taken this opportunity to reconnect with and heal your inner child.
Visualize yourself stepping back through the door together,
Leaving the past behind and returning to the present moment.
Take a few deep breaths,
Grounding yourself in the here and now.
And when you're ready,
Gently move your body as it wants to be moved.
Maybe you want to give yourself a hug,
A smile.
Bring your awareness back to the present,
Carrying the love and healing energy with you into your daily life.
