The purpose of this morning meditation is to help you to set an intention for your day ahead. Having an intention creates some clarity and a point of focus. Your intention could be something that benefits you physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually. Your intention could be to "do" something but it could also be making time to rest. I really hope you enjoy starting your day with this morning's meditation.

Welcome to your practice and thank you for joining me.

You can be seated or lying down for this.

Take a moment to relax and get really comfortable.

As you settle in,

Notice the support beneath you.

If it feels good,

You can gently close your eyes or maintain a soft gaze.

Allow your breath to flow in and out of your nose,

Gently tuning in to your breath.

No need to change or shape the breath,

Just noticing the natural flow of the breath.

Choosing to allow the breath to comfort and relax you,

Breathing smoothly and evenly as you relax more and more.

Noticing the thoughts in your mind and allowing them to just be there.

No need to attach to them,

No need to resist them,

Allowing any thoughts to come and go.

Then gently move your awareness to your jaw and consciously allow your jaw to relax.

Then move your awareness to your shoulders and allow your shoulders to release and relax.

Moving your awareness to your stomach now and just allow your stomach to soften and relax.

Now notice your entire body,

Exactly where it is and relax everywhere.

Gently begin to become aware of your intention for today.

Remaining in stillness and without forcing or trying to control anything.

Simply ask yourself this question and allow your intention to drift into your conscious awareness.

For my benefit,

For my greatest good,

What do I need today?

Notice what arises into your consciousness,

It may be a word,

A phrase,

An image,

A symbol,

A sound,

A feeling or something that you can make sense of.

Continue to breathe smoothly and evenly here.

Then when you have your intention,

In whatever form it may be,

Choose to fully embrace it as your intention for today,

Your focus for this day.

Then say to yourself,

Either silently or out loud,

I choose to be grateful,

I can achieve anything I set my mind and heart to.

I choose to embrace this day on planet earth.

Letting any focus fade now,

Awareness coming back into the room or the space that you're in.

Take a deep breath in and an easy breath out,

Taking your intention with you into your day.

Thank you for joining me and I'll see you back here again soon.
