Dear Explorer,
Welcome to this new No Rush Capsule.
Right now,
I'm sitting at home and my cat is resting on my lap.
She's looking very attentively towards the window.
Something outside has caught her attention.
Maybe a bird or a movement in the trees.
Instead of observing with her in the direction where she's looking,
I decide to observe her and feel her presence.
For instance,
I can feel her weight resting on my legs.
Her front paws are on my left thigh and her back paws stretch across the other side.
As I gently stroke her fur with my fingers and the palm of my hand,
I notice the softness of her coat.
Every now and then,
The tip of her tail moves slightly.
Her ears adjust to small sounds.
She's completely absorbed in the moment.
And her brother is looking at us.
You can probably hear him.
All this makes me realize something.
Animals are incredibly good at being present.
They can spend several minutes just watching something small,
Completely focused.
Sometimes they even remind us to slow down.
A cat that suddenly walks across your keyboard.
A dog asking for a walk when you've been working for too long.
In their own way,
They invite us back into the moment.
So,
Here's today's explorer mission.
If you have an animal around you today,
A cat,
A dog or any companion,
Take a few minutes to simply observe them.
Watch how they move.
Notice how they breathe.
Notice where their attention goes.
If they are close to you,
Maybe you can feel the texture of their fur.
Or even notice their scent.
Let them show you the way,
How to slow down.
You might even take a small mental photograph of that moment.
Just you,
Your animal,
Your pet,
Your companion,
And the quiet presence of sharing the same space.
If you try this little exploration,
Feel free to share in the comments what you noticed about your animal.
Thank you for spending this moment with me and for listening to this no-rush capsule.
Remember,
Wonder is closer than you think.
