Hello and welcome.
This meditation is designed to increase the energy flow in the throat chakra.
If you haven't already done so,
Find yourself a comfortable position.
Ideally your spine is straight,
Whether you're seated or laying down,
And if possible set yourself up so you won't be disturbed.
Turning all devices that might be nearby off or on to a mode or setting that won't disturb you.
As you begin to settle in,
You might like to take a nice deep breath in through the nose if that's available to you,
Feeling the belly and letting it go out through the mouth with an audible sigh.
Beginning to support that energy flow through the chakra.
Let's do that two more times.
In through the nose,
Perhaps pausing at the top of the inhale to retain the breath for a moment.
Out through the mouth,
Maybe with a sigh.
And in your own rhythm,
Breathing in one more time through the nose,
Feel the belly,
Hold at the top.
And whenever you are ready to let the breath go with an audible sigh,
Letting go,
Letting go.
And as you continue to breathe,
Give yourself some time and space now to let go of all that has brought you to this point in your day.
Using the breath as an anchor to this present moment so that you may be here now with as much focus and intention as is possible.
Continue to breathe,
Allowing your nervous system to unwind,
To settle,
Even if just a little.
You might like to extend and lengthen your breath if you haven't already done so.
So often we go about our days unconsciously breathing.
The breath takes care of itself.
Take this opportunity to breathe with intention.
And if it is in your practice,
You might like to extend the exhale,
Making it longer than the inhale.
We're going to work with the breath in this guided journey.
The breath travels through the throat chakra with every inhale and every exhale.
See if you can breathe and relax the entire throat area from the jaw to the collarbone,
Front and back,
Sides of the neck,
The outside and the inside of your physical body.
Allowing it to soften as best you can.
As you continue to breathe.
As you allow the breath to travel in and out of your body.
We're going to shift our focus ever so slightly.
And as we do,
Be sure to keep breathing.
As you place your attention on the throat,
Notice if there is anything that comes to mind that might be a little sticky.
Perhaps something gritty or stagnant.
Maybe there's something stuck,
A piece of communication,
Words,
Emotions.
Is there anything potentially blocking the flow of energy through the throat chakra?
I'll give you a moment to contemplate this so that you may find one thing to work with in our practice together.
Once you have identified something to work with,
We're going to use the breath to shift it.
If what you are working with today is something to let go of or to move something through,
I invite you to focus more on your exhale.
Conversely,
If there is something that you wish to welcome in,
Invite a little more of,
Then I encourage you to focus more on the inhale.
And when you are ready,
We're going to spend some time together focusing on the inhale or the exhale.
When you are ready,
Breathe with intention.
If you are breathing in and that is your focus,
Really use that inhale to welcome in what is perhaps missing or what you would like to invite a little more of.
If you are working with the exhale,
Really work on releasing,
On letting go and letting that exhale carry what you are working with.
As you breathe,
Be sure to keep breathing with intention.
In and out.
Breathing with awareness.
I'm going to give you a couple of minutes to really sink into this breath.
And after a couple of minutes,
We'll move into the next phase.
On your next inhale,
Take a nice deep breath in,
Breathe in through the nose if it's available to you and letting it go with a nice big audible sigh out through the mouth.
As you allow your breathing to return to its own rhythm,
We're going to work with the flow of energy in the throat chakra now.
I invite you to imagine,
Feel,
Sense or think about the energy flow in the throat chakra.
We're going to begin with the flow up and down,
Not unlike the breath.
But instead of focusing on the breath to do so,
We are going to imagine that there is an uninterrupted flow of energy making its way up through the throat chakra from the heart.
You might sense that this is happening repeatedly and that that energy flow makes its way from the heart upwards through the throat,
Maybe past the third eye and out the top of your head.
The top of your head is the crown chakra.
And you might sense that energy pouring out the top of your head repeatedly up through the heart,
The throat,
Past the third eye and out the crown of your head.
Noticing if there are any blockages and just allowing that energy to dissolve those blockages so that it may flow freely up from the heart through the throat again and again until it feels effortless.
And this may take some time or it might happen quite quickly for you.
What matters most is that the energy begins to flow.
And when you are ready,
Once that energy is flowing,
We're going to add on to it.
We're going to imagine that the energy is coming from the heart up through the throat,
Up to the crown of the head and back down again,
Down to the heart,
Back up through the throat,
All the way to the crown of the head and making its way back down again,
Like an infinite loop,
Allowing that energy to flow.
And if there is any sticky parts,
Allow them to dissolve.
And eventually that energy will flow in a beautiful rhythm,
Circular,
Infinite.
We're not working with the lower three survival chakras in this practice.
Instead,
We're working from the heart to the crown and focusing on the throat,
Supporting ourselves,
Supporting our energy body to experience more flow,
More rhythm.
And that infinite loop begins to get a little smaller,
Ever so slightly.
And it gets smaller and smaller until it is a loop within the throat only.
Looping through the throat chakra,
You might like to imagine that it can move,
This loop can move and have different shapes and angles to it.
Maybe it works horizontally,
Left,
Right,
Left,
Right.
And that loop makes its way in a circular motion around the throat chakra.
Maybe it moves on a rotating axis.
And you feel that looping in the throat,
Flowing in every direction.
Cleansing and clearing the throat chakra,
Opening this vital channel for our human lives.
Taking your time now to allow that infinite loop to cleanse and clear as it needs to.
Every part of the throat chakra,
Top to bottom,
Inside and out.
In a moment,
We will begin to bring our journey to a close.
But before we do,
You might like to run this cleansing,
Clearing energy up through the throat.
And one last time,
Passing the third eye and out through the crown.
Releasing,
Letting go of anything that does not belong in the throat,
Out through the crown,
Making an offering.
And then when you are ready,
Taking a moment to sit and notice the quality of the atmosphere in the throat.
Perhaps you feel it in the heart,
Maybe even in the third eye and the crown.
But more importantly,
The atmosphere of the throat.
You might like to test it out by making a sound,
Adding a noise to your breath,
Maybe a sigh,
A shush sound.
Maybe you let your lips close and you make a whisper through pursed lips.
Taking a moment to give yourself thanks for taking the time to be with this practice today.
Taking the time to tend to the throat,
This incredibly important energy center.
You might like to take these final moments to make a commitment to yourself to only speak from this energy,
From this space,
Cleansed and clear so that your communication may be received as it is intended.
With loving kindness,
With generosity,
With clarity,
Uncertainty,
Conviction,
Whatever feels right for you.
If it is in your practice,
You might like to bring your hands together in prayer over the heart,
Or perhaps both hands resting over your heart center.
To close our practice together,
You might like to bow your head in gratitude,
Honoring your efforts today.
Thank you for joining me for this practice.
May your communication be clear.
May the channel remain open,
But please know that you are most welcome to return to this practice anytime.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
