The Nagual's Breath — Anti-Stress Breathing
In Toltec and Mazatec traditions of Mesoamerica, every human being carries an animal double called the Nagual. For warriors, it is often the jaguar — a being that breathes from the belly, never from the chest. This 2-minute practice draws from this ancestral breathwork technique, rhythmically anchored by a shamanic drum, to rapidly interrupt the anxiety cycle. By activating the parasympathetic nervous system through an exhale twice as long as the inhale, the body returns to its natural coherence. As a former Naval Officer and high-performance coach, I guide this 2-minute pause designed for those who cannot afford to fall apart. Please note: This practice is intended to support your wellbeing and does not replace professional medical or mental health care.
